Here’s a quick look at some of the casting announcements made recently:

Think seeing Tom Cruise bald and hairy is a shocker? Now imagine him as a woman.

According to Variety, a part originally linked to Cruise could be getting a gender overhaul. Although it looked like Tom would be starring in Edwin A. Salt, the actor has since moved on. Now the role - about a CIA agent forced to run after being labeled a Russian spy - and the movie’s title may be adjusted to accommodate Angelina Jolie.

No start date has been announced for the Phillip Noyce thriller.

Tom Cruise

Could be aiming to lighten his career?

While Angelina negotiates to take his Salt role, the actor is reportedly eyeing another comedy.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, Cruise may attach himself to Food Fight, a film written by Definitely, Maybe‘s Adam Brooks. If he stays committed to the project, Tom would play a “snooty New York chef” who winds preparing meals for high school students.

No director has yet been assigned.

Meryl Streep

As if three men weren’t enough.

Actress is currently in talks to star in an untitled film for Universal. Interestingly, the romantic comedy would have the Mamma Mia! actress choosing between only two men. (Love triangles are much easier to deal with.)

The film will be directed by Nancy Meyers, the same woman behind Something’s Gotta Give and .

Streep can next be seen in Doubt, co-starring Philip Seymour Hoffman and Amy Adams. That movie opens December 12.
