Here’s a quick look at some of the casting announcements made recently:
Although the paparazzi has been aiming to get close to Brangelina for days, Quentin Tarantino was recently able to score a one-on-one with Brad Pitt. Tarantino, who recently completed his script for Inglorious Bastards, just met with the actor in France in hopes of casting him in the film. According to Variety, Brad was in discussion to play the role of Aldo Raine.
As we reported earlier, the Kill Bill director would like to start production on his WWII era movie soon, and his current schedule is reflecting that mood. In addition to his meeting with Pitt, Quentin was reportedly scheduled to meet Leonardo DiCaprio yesterday about the character Hans Landa. Meanwhile, Tarantino and Harvey Weinstein are meeting with five different studios to secure a financial partner.
Filming on Inglorious Bastards is set to begin this fall in Germany and France.
Read More Writer Vince Gilligan (Hancock) is teaming up with Will Ferrell for a new comedy entitled Two Face (or 2-Face depending on who you ask). In the Sony production, Ferrell would play a man with a dual personalities. While he is initially racist, an incident causes him to become a liberal as well. Although no director is yet attached to the project, the goal is to begin filming within months. Ferrell is also set to work with Sacha Baron Cohen on their Sherlock Holmes feature sometime next year. Movie lovers turned off by Eddie Murphy‘s last few non-Shrek related projects might find some relief in his next film. In an interview with MTV, the actor said his next comedy will actually force him to limit his speech. “This picture I’m doing now called A Thousand Words is like nothing I’ve ever done before. It’s not a kids movie, a family movie. It’s a really, funny smart picture. Different. I play this literary agent who finds out he only has 1000 words left to say and then he’s going to die.” Intriguing synopsis: Plus. Knowing that he’ll be working once again with his Meet Dave/Norbit collaborator: Double Minus. Too bad. It really did sound like it had potential.
