Diane Kruger

Here’s a quick look at some of the casting announcements made recently:

has finally injected a bit of estrogen into his growing Inglorious Bastards cast. Diane Kruger - probably best known for her work in the National Treasure installments - has just been added to the WWII-era film.

Kruger, who was born in Germany, will play Bridget Von Hammersmark, a German actress who helps a group of American Nazi killers. (That group is lead by Aldo Raine, Brad Pitt’s character.) The role will allow Diane to speak in both English and her native tongue.

This will be the second time Kruger has worked with the father of six. The two both starred in 2004’s Troy.

- also starring Eli Roth, Mike Myers and B.J. Novak - begins filming in Germany on October 13.

Woody Harrelson

apparently has a need to save the world.

Back in July, we reported that the No Country for Old Men star would be starring in 2012, a movie about the predicted ending of the Earth.

Now the actor is scheduled to save the population in Zombieland, a Columbia Pictures production. In the horror comedy, Woody will play Albuquerque, one of two survivors forced to bond while fighting off human-hungry zombies.

No start date has been announced for this project.

George Clooney

Burn After Reading‘s is currently in talks to partner with Jason Reitman, the Oscar-nominated director of Juno.

If negotiations go well, Clooney will star in Up in the Air, the big-screen version of Walter Kirn’s novel.

George would play a “career transition counselor,” someone who downsizes corporations for a living. In his personal life, Clooney’s character is someone who’s determined to accumulate a million frequent-flier miles.

Reitman - who wrote 2005’s Thank You For Smoking - is also behind Air‘s adaptation.
