Steve Carell

Here’s a quick look at some of the casting announcements made recently:

Two of ‘s Thursday night stars will soon be joining forces for a big-screen comedy.

Actors (The Office) and Tina Fey (30 Rock) are both lined up to star in Date Night, a film for 20th Century Fox.

The comedians will play a married couple who end up with more than just a “dinner and a movie” on their regular date night. The movie will be helmed by Shawn Levy, the same man currently directing Night at the Museum 2: Battle of the Smithsonian.

Production on Date Night should begin sometime next year.

Ashton Kutcher

, last seen in this year’s What Happens in Vegas, has lined up yet another comedy for himself.

In Like Father, the actor will play a new dad who finds himself bonding with his own father. Thanks to an amazing coincidence, the two men wind up parenting baby boys at the same time. This circumstance, of course, finally gives the two something in common.

The movie, co-produced by Kutcher, will get a rewrite from Kenneth Lonergan (You Can Count on Me). No start date has been announced.

Orlando Bloom

and Liam Neeson are both set to star in an adaptation of a Fools Rush In, a Bill Carter book. (The currently untitled project should not be confused with the 1997 Matthew Perry/Salma Hayek film.)

The movie, based on Carter’s memoirs, will tell the story of an aid worker in Sarajevo during the lengthy Balkan conflict. Bloom, who will also co-produce the project, told reporters that he looks forward to doing something different from what he’s best known for.

“I read the script, and the very human story and the very core of this film spoke to me very clearly. This is a departure from the very big Hollywood productions.”

Production on the film should begin in Sarajevo by the end of the year.
