Here’s a quick look at some of the casting announcements made recently:

Michelle Monaghan: The Made of Honor actress is going to be kept waiting in Due Date, a Todd Phillips-directed comedy. Michelle has been cast as the pregnant wife eager for her husband (Robert Downey Jr.) to make it home. Unfortunately, the dad-to-be is accompanied by Zach Galifianakis (The Hangover) during his hurried journey home. The film is still in pre-production.

Matt Damon: The Informant actor has just lined up his second project with director Clint Eastwood. Matt, who has already filmed Eastwood’s Invictus, is now set for Hereafter, a supernatural thriller. The Sixth Sense-esque film will be written by Peter Morgan (Frost/Nixon) while Steven Spielberg will serve as one of the executive producers.

Anton Yelchin: It’s bye-bye robots and hello hand puppets for Yelchin. The actor from both Terminator Salvation and Star Trek has just been added to The Beaver, a film already boasting Mel Gibson and Jodie Foster. Anton will play the son of a depressed man (Gibson) who treats his beaver puppet like a real person. Foster will also serve as director.

Mandy Moore: The singer/actress will be combining both talents for Rapunzel, Disney’s take on the Brothers Grimm tale. Moore will fill the role of the lovely young lady with the ridiculously long hair. Meanwhile, Chuck‘s Zachary Levi will star as the bandit the princess escapes with. The animated musical will be released late next year.

Max Ryan: Could this be the next Gilles Marini? The Death Race actor has been granted hunk status for Sex and the City 2. Ryan was recently cast as Rikard, a European architect who “crosses paths” with Samantha Jones (Kim Cattrall). It’s unclear whether they’ll be fully clothed at the time.

Rainn Wilson: The Office star will soon live out Dwight Schrute’s dream. In Super, Wilson will become a pseudo-superhero after his wife becomes charmed by a drug dealer. His alter ego, Crimson Bolt, will be armed with a wrench. Liv Tyler and Ellen Page will co-star.

Jeffrey Dean Morgan: Morgan will be shifting from Watchmen to Wolverines for his next film. The Grey’s Anatomy hunk is in final talks to join the Red Dawn reboot as Lt. Andrew Tanner, the role originated by Powers Boothe in the 1984 version. The special forces leader will help the high school teens fight off enemy soldiers behind enemy lines. Dawn is scheduled for a September 24, 2010 release.
