Although a leading man has not yet officially been attached, Marvel has gone ahead and cleared a spot for another Iron Man film.
The studio, which already had options for two more sequels, immediately greenlighted the second installment after their record-busting weekend. Given that Robert Downey Jr. has been widely credited for making the well-received film a success, it’s expected he’ll be bargaining with execs for a larger paycheck. Meanwhile, Marvel is reportedly set to talk with the actor and director Jon Favreau about the follow-up’s general storyline soon.
Assuming negotiations go well, we should be expecting to see Iron Man 2 - with Gwyneth Paltrow and Terrence Howard - on April 30, 2010.

There was an interview with Robert Downey Jr prior to the release of Iron Man, where he stated he ready to do 15 more of these films if called upon to do so.
I think everyone was thinking sequel, assuming the box office was there. Expect the film to do especially well on DVD.

Terrance Howard (Jim Rhodes) got replaced by Don Cheadle on Iron Man 2, still nobody knows the reason why they made the replacement, He was shocked by the decision and so was I, he played a great roll on the first movie and the sequel was his time to shine.

Hi Byron, I read that Terrance Howard was replaced because he was asking a lot of money for the movie, but them I read interview where he denied to be making this petitions, the movie trailer looks awesome but I do not like replacements on sequels, The worst replacement I can Recall on latest movies was Rachel Mcadams replacing Katie Holmes as Rachel Dawes in Batman The Dark Knight.
