Notorious MovieLil Kim isn’t too happy with the film Notorious, and I’m not referring to Hitchcock’s 1946 joint. The diminutive singer will be characterized in an upcoming biopic of rapper Notorious B.I.G. - she says in a “false portrayal.”

, Derek Luke, Anthony Mackie, Naturi Naughton and Antonique Smith will star with newcomer Jamal Woolard, who plays the title role in the flick. Currently, Notorious is scheduled to hit theaters on the 16th of January. But Lil Kim says the movie is sensationalized, as films are wont to be.

“The film studios and producers involved were more concerned about painting me as a ‘character’ to create a more interesting story line,” Lil Kim said in a recent statement. The rocky relationship between Lil Kim and Notorious B.I.G. is the stuff of legend, but she says even this was taken to the extreme in the film. “Even though my relationship with Big was at times very difficult and complicated - as with most relationships we have all experienced at one time or another - it was also genuine and built on great admiration and love for each other. Regardless of the many lies in the movie and false portrayal of me to help carry a story line through, I will still continue to carry his legacy through my hard work and music,” she vowed.

But not everyone who was once in the rapper’s life is displeased with the film. “This is not a Lil Kim movie,” pointed out Voletta Wallace, mother of Christopher Wallace (the man we know as Notorious). She’ll be played by the gorgeous Angela Bassett in the movie. “If she’s disappointed and upset, that is her problem,” Wallace said of Kim’s reaction to the movie.

The film will give viewers a look at the life (and tragic death) of Christopher Wallace.
