Several Star Trek Films Potentially on Tap

Although details about the future film have been kept closely guarded, there is one thing we do now know:  the movie may eventually become one of three.

In an interview with MTV, actor Simon Pegg admitted that the decision to lock himself into the role as Scotty was something that initially worried him.

“I thought about it for a bit because you have to commit to a series of films and that puts you in a situation where the studio has some control over what you do. I called up J.J. and I said, ‘the idea is amazing but I’m worried.’ And he said, ‘what’s the worst that can happen? We hang out every three years and make a fun film?’”

As exciting as this news may be, it seems a bit weird to be thinking about sequels of the prequel already.  As it is, the first film of this possible trilogy won’t even debut until May 8….of 2009.
