Paranormal Activity website

How did you contribute to Paranormal Activity‘s recent success? Did you talk about it on Twitter? Did you drag your friends to a showing? Did you purchase Dramamine just so you could sit through it?

Even if you’ve watched the movie multiple times already, this promotional tool could have you buying the DVD as well. Those who register by Monday, November 9 will get to see their name listed in the home version’s credits. According to the website, it’s simply the studio’s way of “thanking the fans who turned the movie into a nationwide phenomenon.”

This could be the one time a movie’s credits ran longer than the actual film.

Have audiences seen enough Saw?

Although Jigsaw is known for slaying his competition, the serial killer was no match for Katie Featherstone and Micah Sloat. This weekend, those two unknowns saw their small project, , finally top the box office charts. The movie, which was produced for approximately $15,000, reached that position after a steady climb up the ranks. (Aren’t films supposed to go down?) The horror flick also had a higher per screen average than any entry in the Top 10 despite fewer engagements.

Quelling the rumors once and for all, Transformers actress Megan Fox accepted her Spike TV Scream Award for Best Sci-Fi Actress this past weekend with a heartfelt speech.

In her speech, she indirectly refers to the anonymous Transformers crew members who wrote a very anti-Ms. Fox letter, which circulated the internet so fast that it prompted even director Michael Bay to speak out about it.

Calling herself “a very ordinary part of an extraordinary film,” it almost seems like she comes close to tears at one point. Truly grateful, or does she have me fooled with her acting abilities?

NOTE: This is not an indicator of how I felt about the movie. This is simply me telling you how the movie made me feel.

I’m not a big scaredy-cat. I’m really not. I apparently just have a weak stomach.

I should have known the night was going to go wrong from the minute I sat down for . While we were still sitting through the previews, I noticed a horrible smell. It was that strong odor a non-smoker picks up on when seated anywhere near a chain smoker. The teen in front of reeked of cigarettes and it was starting to irritate my lungs. Although I debated moving before the film began, I chose to stick it out. After all, we found great seats and I didn’t want to ruin our position.

As it turns out, that smell was the least of my problems.

Megan Fox says that special effects got in the way of her skillsIn another interesting Megan Fox quote, the actress says that Transformers doesn’t show off her acting skills.

The starlet admits that she feels “pressured” to prove herself because she feels upstaged by the special effects used in the franchise.

“I have no idea about my future career. I just hope that I can still be working in 10 years. When you’re in something as successful as Transformers, you can’t use it as a sales piece for your ability as an actress because it’s all about the special effects. So you do sort of feel pressure to try and prove yourself. I have no idea what I’m capable of. I’m sort of finding that out now and testing my boundaries. I’m blessed with the opportunities that people are giving me—ones that I don’t maybe even deserve. But I’m not complaining.”

Megan can next be seen showing her talents in Jennifer’s Body, in which she plays a cheerleader out for revenge after she is killed in a satanic ritual, and says that she had to be “humiliated” to give a good performance: “I’m basically being stabbed to death by this evil rocker played by Adam Brody. I didn’t want to bulls**t my way through it because I would have been really embarrassed, so I had to allow myself to be humiliated and toyed with.”

Will Ferrell to replace Robert Downey Jr. in OobermindWill Ferrell has replaced Iron Man star Robert Downey Jr. in Oobermind.

Father of six Brad Pitt and Superbad‘s Jonah Hill have also joined the voice cast of the forthcoming DreamWorks movie, which follows the titular character, an evil criminal mastermind—played by Will—who finds his life becomes dull when he defeats his rival, Brad’s Metro Man.

Jonah will voice Titan, a new superhero created by Oobermind while Tina Fey voices a reporter tracking the crime fighters.

Sherlock Holmes star Robert cited “scheduling conflicts” for his departure from the project, adding fuel to speculation he is to play the role of Lestat—made famous by Tom Cruise in Interview With The Vampire—in a new retelling of Anne Rice’s Vampire Chronicles novels.

Oobermind is scheduled for release in November 2010.

Megan FoxI’ve been waiting for this. I’ve always been a Transformers fan, the original movie from 1986 is one of my favorites. When Michael Bay was announced as the director for the first film, I was skeptical. Then I saw it and found it to be an enjoyable romp, but wanted something more. Revenge of the Fallen gives me that something more. As in more robots, more action, and of course more Megan Fox. I really liked how Bay and the writers picked and chose aspects from Classic G1, the Japanese “Masterforce” series, the Dreamwave comics, and Armada to flesh out the story as well as Easter eggs to search for. is exactly what you expect it to be; a big, loud, action packed popcorn flick that takes itself seriously enough that it doesn’t treat the material as a joke, while at the same time not attempting to recreate “War and Peace” with giant robots.
