500 Days of Summer Without the Script

The cute overload that is 500 Days of Summer continues, as stars Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Zooey Deschanel performed an impromptu, short version of how the film would be without a script.

Set to present an award to the film’s screenwriters Scott Neustadter and Michael H. Weber, Gordon-Levitt and Deschanel ditched the teleprompter and offered a silent skit of the elevator/Smiths scene. Then the pair realized that they wouldn’t have had stage directions without a script and redid the scene appropriately (albeit, quite boring and proving a good point).

It’s nice to see actors who appreciate those other people working on a film.

Zooey Deschanel Not a Fan of Romantic Comedies

500 Days of Summer

thinks romantic comedies are “stale.”

The (500) Days of Summer star can’t stand modern “rom-coms” because they are stuck in the past. “Romantic comedy has been a stale genre for a while. It seems a lot of them are stuck, if not in the 1950s, then at least in the 1980s,” the 29-year-old said.

Despite her hatred for the genre, Zooey found herself working in it in her latest film . In it, Deschanel plays Summer, a beautiful executive assistant who catches the attention of her handsome colleague. She loved the film, but admits she was unsure about the script at first.

Zooey Deschanel and Joseph Gordon-Levitt Just Want to Dance

(500) Days of Summer stars Zooey Deschanel and Joseph Gordon-Levitt know that they’re just about the cutest on-screen couple ever. Banking on that infectious charm, the pair star in the She & Him music video for “Why Do You Let Me Stay Here?”

Directed by music video veteran (and director of (500) Days) Marc Webb, Gordon-Levitt plays a bank robber who decides to dance with the teller (Deschanel) before running off with the money. Once again, it seems as if the trio can’t stop producing quality work together!
