First Look: Leonardo DiCaprio in Scorsese’s Shutter Island


When comes calling, the stars show up.

For his first film since Revolutionary Road, Leonardo DiCaprio reteams with his three-time director for , another Boston-area set thriller from author Dennis Lehane (Gone Baby Gone, Mystic River). The story centers around a search for a criminally-insane patient from a mental institution.

, Michelle Williams, Patricia Clarkson, Ben Kingsley, Jackie Earle Haley, Emily Mortimer and Max von Sydow all join DiCaprio for this adaptation. Shutter Island opens on October 2.

See a Sultrier Side to Hilary Duff

Hilary DuffThe Lizzie McGuire star isn’t Disney’s property anymore. will soon be steaming it up on the big screen, in a role which could propel her out of the lighthearted teen parts of her past.

Duff plays a pop star in War, Inc, but there’s nothing bubble-gum about her performance - at least, not in the clip that’s making the rounds on the Internet. In the film, plays a hit man who is using Duff as a cover story. Marisa Tomei and Ben Kingsley co-star. The movie will hit theaters May 23, but the clip of Duff’s scorpion scene is available right now.

Martin Scorsese Reteams with Leonardo DiCaprio

Put Description HereMuses can come in all different shapes and sizes.  Woody Allen has Scarlett while Spielberg has Tom Hanks.  For , his actor of choice has clearly become Leo.

The Academy Award-winning director and will soon be reteaming for their fourth project together.  Shutter Island will follow their work on The Gangs of New York, The Aviator and last year’s winner, The Departed.

Shutter is based off a book written by Dennis Lehane, the same man behind two critically-acclaimed films: Mystic River and .  The story focuses on two marshals who become trapped on a Boston-area island while searching for a criminally insane escapee.  (Lehane’s stories are primarily set around Boston.)

The movie, which starts production next month, already boasts an all-star cast.  Joining DiCaprio will be Mark Ruffalo (Reservation Road), Max von Sydow (The Diving Bell and the Butterfly), Emily Mortimer (Lars and the Real Girl), Jackie Earle Haley (Little Children), Ben Kingsley (You Kill Me), (Brokeback Mountain) and Patricia Clarkson (No Reservations).

Mary-Kate’s May-December Romance

Mary-Kate OlsenMary-Kate Olsen, 21, will share a steamy on-screen kiss with 63-year-old Ben Kingsley in the upcoming film The Wackness. Kingsley, who once played Ghandi, describe the kiss as “very passionate.” The controversial kiss is already getting attention, though the movie isn’t slated for release until next year – and the scene in question was filmed only last week. Kingsley is a therapist in the film, trading pot for therapy session with a young drug dealer. Olsen is one of the dealer’s customers. The kiss is almost the only on-screen time the two share together, as each character goes their separate ways after the steamy moment. The movie marks Mary-Kate’s return to the big screen since 2004’s New York Minute, which featured both Mary-Kate and Ashley
