Ryan Reynolds is being targeted to appear in Highlander.
The Safe House actor is reportedly the frontrunner to take on the lead role in the forthcoming reboot, and though no formal offers have yet been made, sources tell Variety that both the actor and studio Lionsgate-Summit are "very interested" in working together on the project. However, the insiders add that Ryan is also weighing up other offers and could instead pursue other projects.
Plot details for the movie are not yet known, but the original series - which began with a 1986 movie and had several sequels and a TV show - followed an immortal swordsman through the centuries as he battled other immortal warriors.
Juan Carlos Fresnadillo is to direct the movie with Neal Moritz and Peter Davis producing through Moritz's Original Film banner along with Enrique Lopez Lavigne and Belen Atienza.
Ryan's X-Men Origins: Wolverine character, Deadpool, is getting a spin-off movie, though it is not confirmed when work will begin on the project.
Reese Witherspoon and Ryan Reynolds are set to star in Big Eyes. The pair have signed up to play artists Margaret and Walter Keane - who became famous in the 1950s and 60s after their paintings of large-eyed kids were one of the first mass marketed art sensations at the time - in a film that will be produced by Tim Burton.

Even though the buzz for Green Lantern fizzled at the reveal of its rather disappointing full-length trailer,
Ryan Reynold's abs the superhero flick managed to fight off last week's box office winner, Super 8.
The DC comic book adaptation scored $53 million at the box office in its first week, while the J.J. Abrams and Steven Spielberg project Super 8 managed to finish second -- down from last week's top spot -- at $21.2 million . Jim Carrey's family comedy Mr. Popper's Penguins debuted in third place raking in $18.2 million, pushing last week's second place film X-Men: First Class -- the X-Men prequel starring James Mcavoy and Michael Fassbender -- to fourth with $11.5 million.

Gossip Girl Blake Lively is "confident" she will appear in more Green Lantern movies.
The 23-year-old actress portrays Carol Ferris in the forthcoming comic book film and is hopeful to get the chance to play the character, and her villainous alter ego Star Sapphire again in the future.
"Carol is a very strong woman. I really appreciated not being the damsel in distress. She has this relationship with Hal Jordan (Ryan Reynolds), they're each other's first love. "If we did a few more films, I'm pretty confident Star Sapphire would show up."
Blake was asked to audition for the movie after impressing studio bosses with her performance in The Town and she was pleased to be recognized for her acting abilities rather than her appearance. "I made The Town with Warner Bros. and they said to me, 'We want you to look at Green Lantern.' It was really nice that this was a studio that wasn't looking for some girl to have her legs greased up and her boobs out and that's all that mattered."

We have no idea who the bad guy is, which city was used for the setting or who the hell else is in the cast -- but we do know this: Ryan Reynolds is the central theme of this Green Lantern trailer.
Actually, scratch the third part. We also know that Blake Lively is in the flick. Her face is seen for a brief moment (don’t blink) somewhere in the middle of this Reynolds showcase. We’re hearing that Lively plays the love interest to Reynold’s non-superhero persona.
Watch the entire trailer to learn more about rings of power and Ryan Reynold’s abs.

Ryan Reynolds - who plays Paul, a US contractor in Iraq who is buried alive - admits he had moments of “utter panic” when he shooting his new movie Buried.
“Claustrophobic is a primal fear that exists within everybody,” Reynolds said. “For me I was enclosed in there and had moments of utter panic that were soothed in various ways. One woman was playing all the roles when we were shooting. I had a microphone close to my chest and she could hear my panic attack starting ‘cause she could hear my heart accelerating. There were times when I couldn’t get out of the coffin with any ease so I just had to stay in there with 50-60 pounds of wood on your chest pressing down so you start to have moments of panic.”

Universal Pictures recently purchased a $1 million action comedy script (working title: Most Wanted) which will star The Proposal‘s leading couple Sandra Bullock and Ryan Reynolds.
In the flick, Bullock will play a criminal who is being held in custody by U.S. Marshall Reynolds.
Sounds kinda cheesy, but with two great actors in the lead roles the flick just might work.

You can now own a large piece of cinema history - for a cool $1.15 million. The Amityville house, immortalized in the film The Amityville Horror (the famed house was seen in parts 1-117 of the film…not to mention the recent reboot starring Ryan Reynolds) is up for sale. Just remember, the walls are reported to ooze blood.
The five-bedroom home was purchased by the Lutz family in 1979. The family moved from the home weeks later, purportedly driven from the premises by enormous amounts of paranormal activity. Ronald DeFeo, Jr. murdered six members of his family in the home in 1975. The story told by the Lutz family sparked a series of novels and too many films to research (seriously, the number’s way high). Some skeptics have called the accusations against the house a hoax.
Located in New York, the Amityville house is still a draw for the occasional tourist and looky-loo. According to neighbors, fans of the paranormal (or good horror stories…or, maybe Ryan Reynolds) still drive by every so often to get a gander at the house.
