Getting Into Character: Forte and Wiig in MacGruber
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Universal, Adaptation, Comedy, Upcoming Releases, Videos

Can MacGruber find a way to survive when he’s given more than 10 seconds to try?
In the big screen version of the popular Saturday Night Live sketch (you can see some clips after the jump), Will Forte and Kristen Wiig reprise the characters who are always moments away from death. The movie, which is currently filming in New Mexico, is separate from a MacGyver adaptation that New Line is reportedly putting together.
Ryan Phillippe and Val Kilmer are also on board the Lorne Michaels-produced version. MacGruber is scheduled for a April 16, 2010 release.

Celebrity Double-Take: Val Kilmer and Til Schweiger
Posted by Robin Paulson Categories: Celeb News, Celebrity Gossip
For today’s installment, we have Val Kilmer (Alexander) on the left and Til Schweiger (Inglourious Basterds) on the right.
Clearly these two actors have more in common than the fact that they have both appeared in films written by Quentin Tarantino…

The Orphanage: One of the most haunting movies I’ve seen in the past few years is being given an English-language redo. The Orphanage, the 2007 Spanish film from director Juan Antonio Bayona, will now be in the hands of Larry Fessenden. Guillermo del Toro, the producer on the original project, will serve the same role on this version. Guillermo also assisted Larry with the new script.

Which Caped Crusader Outshines All?
Posted by K.C. Morgan Categories: Adventure, Sequels, Casting, New Releases

Batman is back and he’s just as heroic as ever, but Christian Bale isn’t exactly walking where no other actor has ever trod before. The new Batman movie may make it to the top of the box office, but will the new Batman make it to the top of this list?
That’s right, it’s time to put an end to that age-old question: who was the worst Batman, Clooney or Kilmer? Let’s rate the Batmans from worst to best, and find out which man shines as the greatest Bat-like hero of them all.

This Tuesday brings the release of some great titles, new and old. As expected, the studios are rolling out some Halloween-inspired classics, filled with zombies, vampires and serial killers; though sadly, only Blu-ray supporters seem to be taking advantage of the upcoming holiday.
HD DVD studios chose instead to use this week to re-release a bunch of titles that were previously only available in those obnoxious HD DVD/DVD Combo discs. You know, the $40 releases that were appealing to neither the HD owners nor the standard-definition owners? Those of you who rightly refused to make such a silly purchase can now have some great HD titles for a lower price, thanks to Warner Home Video coming to its senses. Any of the following films with an asterisk (*) in the title are the re-released versions.
Check out this Tuesday’s HD DVD and Blu-ray releases after the jump.
