As the autumn season pulls the coats from our closets, warms our chocolate beverages, and turns our leaves from a verdant green to a rusty orange, the movie studios give us another reason to spend a comfy evening at home: summer blockbusters on DVD. And what better way to view these visual—if not always plausible—delights than in high definition?
The coveted two-disc special edition of Transformers releases this week on HD DVD, much to the chagrin of Blu-ray loyalists; without a major exclusive release, they’ll simply have to make do with some mediocre thrillers.
But aside from the inferior cinematic fare, the first and second volumes of Showtime’s Masters of Horror series is out just in time for Halloween. The anthology show gives modern horror directors a full hour to play without the restrictions of an MPAA rating or television censorship. Although it failed to garner much critical acclaim, the show ended up being quite successful and achieved what some could perceive to be cult status.

Posted by K.C. Morgan Categories: Celeb News, Celebrity Gossip, Rumors
Brad Pitt, while promoting his latest flick, told reporters on Sunday that he and Angelina Jolie are ready for another baby. Pitt’s film is about the wild West outlaw Jesse James, and he appeared for his promotion with Jolie and their collected children by his side. Together, the couple has four children, including 15-month Shiloh, the only one biologically born to the couple. Neither Pitt nor Jolie gave any clues as to whether their fifth child will be adopted or biologically born to them. Brad Pitt further went on to say he’s quite pleased with fatherhood, though he isn’t getting much sleep.

Angelina Jolie Takes on Historic Lore In Beowulf
Posted by K.C. Morgan Categories: Paramount, Adaptation, Classics, Drama, Casting, Upcoming Releases
Of all the actresses in all the sets in all the world, Angelina Jolie had to walk into Old English literature. She’ll be part of the cast in Paramount’s Beowulf, directed by Robert Zemeckis. Anyone who sat through High School English will probably remember the ancient tale of warrior Beowulf against nasty little Grendel, one of the most famous literary villains. Ray Winstone will play the title character in the flick, with Crispin Glover slated to play the monster. Jolie will play the monster’s mother, seductress of Beowulf and more desperate for a child than your average thirty-five-year-old single woman. The epic poem was carefully translated into an understandable script, with strong sexual overtones igniting an otherwise somewhat dry tale of heroism. Film insiders say the integrity of the book has been preserved.

Jolie Dishes on Career, Family, and Brad
Posted by K.C. Morgan Categories: Casting, Celebrity Gossip, Rumors, Upcoming Releases
Angelina Jolie recently sat down with Marie Claire and Esquire magazines to talk about her life and the recent rumors that have cast suspicion on her happy relationship with Hollywood hunk Brad Pitt. Jolie told her interviewer that Pitt is often the more cautious and health-conscious one in the couple, providing a staying influence when Angelina wanted to walk around the property she purchased in Cambodia (which had to be de-mined for safety). Angelina also took the time to de-bunk break-up rumors that have surrounded her well-publicized relationship with Brad Pitt, saying the two of them have reached their “comfort zone.” She says that right now, the two of them are very focused on the children (“changing diapers” – direct quote) and have little time for the reports that say they’re heading for Splitsville. They spend most of their time at home and plan to have even more time together in their “later years.”

Brangelina Clan Keeps Expanding
Posted by K.C. Morgan Categories: Celeb News, Celebrity Gossip, Rumors
Though the reps for Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have not yet confirmed the news, Vietnamese officials have stated that Jolie has filed papers towards adopting a child from their country. Though Jolie filed her status as a single parent, it’s no secret that Brad has been on hand to help care for all their children: Cambodian-born Maddox (5), Ethiopian-born Zahara (2), their biological daughter Shiloh (10 months), and will no doubt take an active role in the upbringing of the new baby. The couple has been very vocal about their plans to continue expanding their clan, and they certainly aren’t wasting any time, either. Jolie has commented that they want to continue to add to the mixed-race family, and will possibly look again to Africa the next time they decide to adopt.
