The Royal Tenenbaums writer-director Wes Anderson is already garnering positive attention for his first stop-motion animated film, The Fantastic Mr. Fox, as it has been picked to open the American Film Institute’s Film Festival.
It was at this same gala last year that Juno was chosen as the centerpiece film, impressing critics and prompting movie buzz.
The film stars the voices of George Clooney, Meryl Streep, Jason Schwartzman, Bill Murray, Willem Dafoe, and many more familiar vocals (check out the trailer after the jump).

Zombieland and the Red-Band Trailer
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Columbia Pictures, Horror, Comedy, Trailers, Upcoming Releases
Combine I Am Legend with a little Natural Born Killers, some 28 Weeks Later, and a giant heaping of Shaun of the Dead, and you might just get Zombieland.
In this new film from Ruben Fleischer, survivors of a zombie plague journey across the country to an amusement park. (Because we should always feel safe in a land of clowns.) The horror comedy stars Woody Harrelson, Jesse Eisenberg, Emma Stone and Abigail Breslin and features cameos from Bill Murray and Mike White.
It’ll be time to “nut up or shut up” on October 9.

A Christmas Carol Medley: The Many Ways You Can Enjoy Dickens
Posted by K.C. Morgan Categories: Adaptation, Animation, Short Films, Drama, Family, Musicals, Period, Comedy
It’s that time of year when it’s unsafe to enter a department store, when televised specials are vying to offer you the biggest stars and most touching moments. When ancient movies get dredged up for our entertainment. There is one holiday-themed tale which is so predominant, no winter season would be complete without it. This only begs one question: which version will you watch?
A Christmas Carol is one of the most re-made movies in cinematic history - even Disney is in on the action. But the story itself is even older than Hollywood. A Christmas Carol was originally written by Charles Dickens, and first hit the scene way back in 1843. More than one hundred years later, it’s still one of the most widely-recognized holiday stories in history.
And if you want to enjoy this time-honored tale of redemption, you’ll have more than your fair share of opportunity. How many ways can you enjoy Dickens this year?

Ghostbusters Sequel in the Making
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Columbia Pictures, Sony, Science Fiction, Sequels, Comedy, Rumors, Upcoming Releases

UPDATE: Harold Ramis recently confirmed the sequel news to the Chicago Tribune.
Maybe Bill Murray could use the divorce settlement money? Or maybe Dan Aykroyd could simply use the work? Whatever the reason, it’s looking like a Ghostbusters reunion might soon be possible.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, Columbia Pictures is looking to create a third installment for the popular ‘80s franchise. Although the sequel would likely introduce another exterminating crew, it’s hoped the original four cast members - Harold Ramis, Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd and Ernie Hudson - could be incorporated into the comedy.
