Here’s a quick look at some of the casting announcements made recently:
Kristen Bell: Who knew Veronica Mars was a dancer? Kristen Bell has just been added to the cast of Burlesque, a film that will see Christina Aguilera playing a small-town girl working at a cabaret-esque club in Los Angeles. The film, which stars Cher as the establishment’s owner, will feature Bell as the soon-to-be former lead dancer. Dancing with the Stars’ Julianne Hough will also do what she does best.

Jolie, Eastwood and Ryan Talk About Changeling
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Universal, Drama, Mystery, Period

Last night at the New York Film Festival, Angelina Jolie hit the interview circuit for her first time in months. After speaking briefly about the twins, the actress spoke to Entertainment Tonight about why she got involved with Changeling.
In the movie, Angelina plays a woman in 1928 whose child goes missing. Although the LAPD claims to have found her son, she insists they have brought back the wrong person. Despite the drama’s difficult subject matter, the Oscar-nominee said the script (based on a true story) was simply something she couldn’t get out of her head. It also meant a lot that the role reminded Jolie of her mother. (Marcheline Bertrand died in early 2007.)
After the jump, you can see that interview along with discussions with director Clint Eastwood, co-star Amy Ryan and producer Brian Grazer.

Hugh Hefner Approves Biography in ‘Playboy’
Posted by Johnny Mercedes Categories: Adaptation, Celeb News, Scripts, Upcoming Releases
The ever-suave social activist and founder of Playboy magazine, who sold the rights to his life story several years ago, has recently given the green-light to a film version. Directed by Brett Ratner (X-Men: The Last Stand, Rush Hour), the movie will focus on all major aspects of Hef’s life: his humble upbringing; his advocacy for free speech; a near-death experience in the 1980s; and, of course, his rampant sexual exploits.
Brain Grazer (A Beautiful Mind, The Da Vinci Code) is set to produce the film, and a script is already in the works, though the writer has yet to be announced.
I can only ask myself, “What took so long?” The man has been a social icon for decades, has sex (presumably all day) with beautiful women, and speaks out against censorship — this has “movie” written all over it. Hopefully, the filmmakers weren’t just waiting for him to die, because there’s something they should know: Hugh Hefner is a bona fide superhero, and he’s not going anywhere.
The obvious second question that remains in my mind is, “Who will play Hugh?” My vote is for Greg Kinnear. Or how about Vincent Gallo? That’d be interesting.
