Bridget Jones 3? Renee Zellweger Cries Rumor


Alas, it seems the day that the Bridget Jones 3 premiere is further away than we thought. According to , who says she gets asked about the project “every single day,” the movie is “a rumor.”

She spilled the beans recently while attending Elle magazine’s Women in Hollywood event, where she admitted that she can’t confirm another Bridget Jones project at this time. “I don’t know!” She cried, when asked about the movie.

Renee Zellweger to Return as Bridget Jones


In a movie move that is sure to delight Singletons on both sides of the pond, Texan will reprise her role as British single gal Bridget Jones. She’s sort of the less-glamorous UK version of Carrie Bradshaw - with a flawless English accent and no Manolos.

Once again, the role will require Renee to pack on additional pounds. She has a few months to bulk up before shooting begins near the end of the year. As Jones and Zellweger enter their forties, the Brit’s new mission in life (now that she’s nailed down the trick of maintaining a successful romance) is to have a baby. Perhaps all the padding for the role won’t have to come from Big Macs after all.

Bridget Jones’s Diary was released in 2001. The sequel, The Edge of Reason, appeared in 2004. Both installments featured sparring co-stars (and mega British hotties) Colin Firth and Hugh Grant.
