Carla Bruni-Sarkozy Accepts Woody Allen Offer

Carla Bruni-SarkozyWhat is it about Woody Allen that gets women accepting his film roles? Recently, he snagged Freida Pinto; now he’s somehow managed to get France’s first lady to appear in his movie!

Following the circulation of rumors that pointed to the collaboration, former supermodel Carla Bruni-Sarkozy has

finally

openly agreed to act for Allen, despite not having a clue who she will portray nor having much expertise on a set.

“I do everything a little bit blindly. If I don’t, I won’t do anything. I’m not at all an actress. Maybe I’ll be absolutely terrible,” Carla admitted.

Despite jumping into the project without a clue, Carla is excited about the role and reveals just why she said, “Yes”:

“I’d like to—you know—when I’m a grandmother, to have done a Woody Allen film. I cannot in my life miss an opportunity like this… If this ever comes about, it’ll be a great experience.”

No word on yet as to what kind of project Allen has in store for Bruni-Sarkozy.

Carla Bruni May Star in Woody Allen Film

Carla BruniCarla Bruni - who married French President Nicolas Sarkozy in 2007 - is rumored to have accepted an offer from director . The part would be in an as-yet-untitled movie he is planning to make next year.

Woody stated last year he would offer Carla “any role she liked” in one of his films.

“I would like to work with Carla Bruni. I’m sure she would be wonderful. She has charisma and she performs, so she’s not unknown to an audience, and I would cast her in many different ways,” Allen said. “She is an accomplished artist, she is very beautiful and I am sure she would have a gift for comedy. I can assure people it would cause no problems with President Sarkozy, or with the image of France.”

Carla, 41 - whose sister Valeria and mother Marysa are both experienced actresses - has only ever held a few small film roles in the past, most notably in Robert Altman’s 1994 satire Pret-a-Porter.

Woody’s latest, also untitled, project is currently filming in London and stars Slumdog Millionaire , Anthony Hopkins, Antonio Banderas and Naomi Watts.
