Behind the scenes of Sex and the City

Sex & the City left HBO when the series was still highly popular, at the top of its game. When any successful show leaves the air, it causes questions…and confusion for fans who are left wanting more. It wasn’t until after the Sex was all over that the rumors surfaced and the interviews began. Reportedly, the series ended because of star squabbling - namely, Kim Cattrall. The actress who was loved on the small screen as Samantha Jones allegedly wanted to receive the same amount of pay as the show’s star, Sarah Jessica Parker (a.k.a. Carrie Bradshaw). And that’s when everything fell apart. The series ended amid much hype, HBO tributes, and tons of press. But even then, there were whispers that there might be more Sex to come.
Until that, too, fell apart. Again, it was reported that the Sex & the City movie’s progress was stymied by Kim Cattrall, who refused to do the project. And millions of women were disappointed. Three years after the final farewell, the Sexy movie is back on – with, yes, all four leading ladies as part of the cast. But has time softened the hard feelings that plagued the series? According to on-set reports, no.

Reese Witherspoon Gives the Dish on Divorce from Ryan Phillippe
Posted by K.C. Morgan Categories: Celeb News, Celebrity Gossip
Reese Witherspoon will appear on the cover of Elle this month, but it’s the inside story that’s getting all the attention. In her interview, Witherspoon talks candidly about her divorce from fellow actor Ryan Phillippe. The actress said there were times when she was crippled by emotional pain, and she had to keep telling herself “it’s okay” just to go about her normal life. Witherspoon went on to say that her role as June Carter Cash helped her come to terms with the divorce – the Oscar she walked away with ain’t bad, either. Reese Witherspoon is at least one actress who doesn’t crave media attention, saying “if you’re wearing your panties – gosh darn it, leave me alone!” Like any good southern girl, Reese at least knows how to properly exit and enter vehicles – and certainly wouldn’t be so trashy as to go sans underwear.

Is Hollywood Distancing Itself from Lindsay Lohan?
Posted by K.C. Morgan Categories: Casting, Celeb News, Celebrity Gossip
Hollywood and the media glorify scandal – the worse the celebs look in the pictures, the better. But at what point does the industry throw up its hands and say “enough is enough, already?” Insiders are already speculating that Lindsay Lohan, former Disney child actress-turned sultry party girl, has seen the last of her big screen days…at least as far as A-list movies are concerned. The poster for I Know Who Killed Me, a movie that appeared on the scene just as the news broke that Lindsay was arrested, didn’t even feature Lohan’s image. Now, another Lohan movie – Georgia Rule – is out on DVD. The commercials don’t feature much of Lohan, a clear ploy by the advertisers to distance themselves from the turbulent young star. Lindsay is currently appearing on the cover of Maxim magazine, however, wearing a bedroom expression and not much else, showing that at least some aspects of Lohan’s star continue to shine. Stars like Drew Barrymore (who struggled with her own drug problems) managed to come back from the brink of Hollywood blacklisting, while other substance-abusing stars (like Corey Haim, who disappeared into complete obscurity before reality TV saved him from complete anonymity) were kicked quickly to the curb and off the red carpet. Will Lohan manage to re-establish her screen success, or will we see her in ten years on a little-known cable TV program, struggling to find some sort of fame once more?

Alec Baldwin’s Insane Ireland Phone Call
Posted by K.C. Morgan Categories: Celeb News, Celebrity Gossip, Celebrity Controversy
Dealing with an ex is never fun. Dealing with an ex when you’re both in a media limelight…well, that’s fun for the rest of us. Years after calling it quits, Alec Baldwin and Kim Basinger are going toe-to-toe in court again. The drama erupted April 11, 2007, when Baldwin reportedly called his eleven-year-old daughter, Ireland, per previously scheduled appointment. And now we’re going to take a break from the story to ponder this: Alec Baldwin feels the need to schedule calls he makes to his eleven-year-old daughter’s cell phone. Hmmm. Allegedly, Ireland missed the appointed call and Baldwin was stuck with voice mail. How annoying! So, Baldwin left a voice mail message. Nothing wrong with that…unless that particular voice mail message is filled with swearing, heated words, and ends on a somewhat threatening note – and, of course, you’re addressing a child. A judge revoked Baldwin’s visitation rights after hearing the message, which was “mysteriously” leaked to TMZ.com. Everyone goes to court May 4, 2007, to determine if Baldwin is fit to continue his visitation rights. Alec Baldwin’s rep has already issue a contrite statement to Extra in an attempt to do some damage control.
