Disney releases first trailer for new live-action Cinderella movie

Disney is set to release a new, live-action version of Cinderella in March 2015. Sarah Hyland “Not OK” with Carly Rae Jepsen Casting

Sarah Hyland and Carly Rae JepsenSarah Hyland is "not OK" with Carly Rae Jepsen being cast as Cinderella on Broadway.

The Modern Family star wrote a series of angry Tweets about the "Call Me Maybe" singer's scheduled appearance in the New York musical, saying she's "hesitant" about whether she will be able to pull the part off. "Today's a meltdown day. Carly Rae Jepsen is going to be Cinderella??? On Broadway??? NOT OK WITH THIS. [sic]," she wrote.

Looking to the show's current star, Laura Osnes, she then tweeted, "Tell me it's gonna be OK @LauraOsnes." Sarah then added, "Hoping she will be amazing. I'm hesitant though..."

Carly is set to take on the role for 12 weeks starting on February 4. It is not known if Sarah, 23, had been auditioning for the same part, but she sought to clarify she does not have anything personal against Carly: "To avoid anyone assuming things? My previous tweets do not mean that I'm not a Carly Rae Jepsen fan. The end."

Emma Watson in Talks to Star in Cinderella Adaptation

Emma WatsonEmma Watson may be dipping her toes back into a fantasy world with an updated film version of Cinderella.

The Perks of Being a Wallflower star is said to have her eyes on the Disney movie, in which Cate Blanchett has been cast as the evil stepmother and Kenneth Branagh has signed on to direct.

Fairy tale updates are becoming a trend these days... Aside from Universal's update of Snow White - starring Kristen Stewart - Disney has had the Sleeping Beauty-inspired film Maleficent in the works, in which Angelina Jolie plays the title villainess.

Watson will be seen next in Sofia Coppola's Bling Ring, a film about the thieving teenagers who targeted stars like Lindsay Lohan and Paris Hilton a few years ago.

Drew Barrymore to Direct Oz Sequel

Drew Barrymore directing Whip It

From roller derbies to somewhere over the rainbow, is to direct a Wizard of Oz sequel.

The actress - who marked her directorial debut earlier this year with - is set to go behind the camera for Surrender Dorothy, a project she was originally set to star in eight years ago. Although the film - based on a script by Zach Helm - appeared to have been shelved in October 2002, it has now been resurrected by Warner Bros, though it unclear whether Drew is still planning to act in it too.
