VIDEO: Watch the Trailer for Danny Boyle’s Latest Film ‘Trance’

Director Danny Boyle's follow-up to his Oscar-nominated 127 Hours, Trance, features his real-life partner Rosario Dawson as a hypnotherapist hired by criminals to uncover the location of a priceless painting.

The thriller - which also stars James McAvoy and Vincent Cassel - appears to be more fast-paced than the James Franco drama and perhaps close to the level of trippiness (at one point in the trailer, Cassel speaks to McAvoy despite half his face and brain missing) that most recall from Boyle's cult classic Trainspotting.

The film hits limited theaters on April 5.

Sam Mendes Praises Queen Elizabeth’s ‘Amazing’ Stunt

Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Action, Comedy, Celebrity Gossip,

Daniel Craig and Queen ElizabethSam Mendes thought that Queen Elizabeth was "amazing" when she starred alongside Daniel Craig at the Olympics opening ceremony.

The 86-year-old monarch made a surprise appearance in a sketch for the London spectacular, which saw her greet the actor in his guise as James Bond before supposedly parachuting from a helicopter. The director - who is at the helm for the latest installment of the Bond franchise, Skyfall - "loved" the idea, but said he was too scared to help Danny Boyle - the man who masterminded the ceremony - with the mammoth task.

"I loved it. Of course I knew that that was being shot. Danny [Boyle] was down on the set a couple of times and I was aware of it all going on. I said, 'I'm staying out of it!' I've got enough to worry about without four billion people watching whatever it is!' But I thought it was amazing. And also a good promo for the movie! It was an act of brinksmanship that went spectacularly right. When I heard about it through Danny and Daniel, I thought, 'Okay, that's a hell of a knife-edge to walk,' with the real queen - who I think Danny directed with great elan."

The film tells the story of an assistant at an art auction house planning a daring robbery alongside a notorious gang leader (McAvoy). Quote of the Day: James Franco on the Advantages of Being a Soap Actor

"He asked if I could memorize and do it right away, which normally would have been difficult but I had just been working on a soap opera, General Hospital. I had to memorize like literally 70 pages a day so that little speech was no problem ... I don't think he knew at the time that General Hospital helped me get the role."

VIDEO: James Franco in Danny Boyle’s 127 Hours

Danny Boyle finally releases 127 Hours—a follow-up to his 2008 (multiple) Oscar-winning film Slumdog Millionaire—starring as real-life mountain climber Aron Ralston who gets trapped in a canyon and reconsiders his outlook on life while fighting to survive.

Boyle’s fast-paced, electric storytelling and Franco’s charm (and looks) definitely draw me into the story, but do we really need to be reminded of all the films Boyle’s done? There is such a thing as IMDB… I’m also glad to see that Franco has moved on from his General Hospital gig.

The film, which also stars Kate Mara, Lizzy Caplan, , and Clemence Posey, hits theaters on November 5.

Keira Knightley Aims For Fair Lady Role

Keira Knightley has her eyes set for the Fair Lady roleA fan of period pieces, Keira Knightley has been tipped to star in a new version of My Fair Lady.

The Pirates of the Caribbean actress is reportedly in negotiations to play Eliza Doolittle in Emma Thompson’s adaptation of the classic rags-to-riches tale.

Anne Hathaway and Scarlett Johansson are also being considered for the role, which was originally played by Audrey Hepburn. An insider said, “Keira and Scarlett are the only two real contenders, and Keira’s the favorite. She’s the most natural Eliza people have seen. She has worked on her singing voice for a year and will get better and better.”

The film’s director Danny Boyle, who won an Academy Award for Slumdog Millionaire earlier this year, is also believed to want Keira to get the part.

The 24-year-old actress is said to be “scared” about taking on such an iconic role, but excited about the challenge it would present. Filming is expected to start late next year.

Box Office Breakdown: Nicolas Cage Bests Julia Roberts

Knowing

It was a battle between two Oscar winners this past weekend - one in (Julia Roberts) a well-received drama and the other (Nicolas Cage) in a critically panned thriller.

You can guess how this ended.

, a film about a bunch of seemingly random numbers, found itself hitting all the right ones over the past three days. The Summit Entertainment project earned $24.6 million and a first place finish. The debut - a nice rebound from Cage’s showing with Bangkok Dangerous - also gave the actor his sixth best premiere ever.
