Director Yells Cut on Sex and the City Rumors
Posted by K.C. Morgan Categories: Paramount, Romance, Comedy, Upcoming Releases
The Internet has been aflame since the telltale slip was released that a Sex and the City character will be offed in the upcoming motion picture. Many have speculated on just who will find a horrible fate with the franchise, but are any of them right?
Carrie’s black hair, leading trailers and general paranoia have led to one convincing rumor that it will, in fact, be Mr. Big who perishes in the film.
Director Michael Patrick King, who also supplies the commentaries for the DVDs, put an end to those rumors in recent statements to the press. “Kill Mr. Big?” King asked rhetorically. “I would have been chased around the planet by women with torches.” And that’s not even the half of it.
But with that statement, the director closed the door on all the current Sex speculation about actor Chris Noth‘s character. If Mr. Big won’t die…then, who will? “It’s a summer movie,” King told reporters. “Why would I want to kill anyone?” Could it be that the biggest Sex and the City slip of the season wasn’t even reality?

BREAKING NEWS: Heath Ledger Found Dead
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Celeb News, Celebrity Gossip, Obituaries
On a day when Hollywood should be celebrating movies, actors are instead mourning the loss of one of their own.
Actor Heath Ledger was found dead this afternoon in New York by his housekeeper. The star in this year’s The Dark Knight was only 28. While no official cause of death has been released, it appears it may have been drug-related.
Ledger, a Best Actor nominee for 2005’s Brokeback Mountain, leaves behind a 2-year-old daughter. Matilda’s mother, actress Michelle Williams, met Heath in 2004 on the set of their Oscar-nominated movie. Although it was often rumored the two were married, the couple parted ways last September. Prior to Williams, Ledger had been in an on-and-off relationship with another former co-star, Naomi Watts.
In addition to this year’s Batman sequel, Ledger’s work can currently be seen in I’m Not There (co-starring recent nominee Cate Blanchett).
Mel Gibson - Heath’s co-star in 2000’s The Patriot - just released this statement to Entertainment Tonight about the tragic news:
“I had such great hope for him. He was just taking off and to lose his life at such a young age is a tragic loss. My thoughts and prayers are with him and his family.”

Actor Brad Renfro Dead
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Celeb News, Upcoming Releases
Actor Brad Renfro, star of 1994’s The Client, was found dead today inside a Los Angeles apartment. Although a cause of death was not immediately known, drugs are being considered a possibility.
Renfro, who was discovered by director Joel Schumacher, went on to make other films after his legal thriller debut. Later roles included parts in Sleepers, Ghost World and 2005’s The Jacket. Unfortunately, the young star’s career was dotted with more notable lows than highs. Renfro’s troubled past included theft, DUIs and heroin possession.
Brad, 25, was working on a new project shortly before he died. He had just completed filming The Informers, co-starring Winona Ryder and Mickey Rourke.
