VIDEO: Mariah Carey’s Drunken Acceptance Speech

When an Oscar-winning screenwriter says “ just gave the most awesome acceptance speech of all time,” it’s bound to get people interested.

So when Diablo Cody (Juno) tweeted that message last night, a million different scenarios ran through my head. Did Mariah accept the award on behalf of “all the Precious girls out there”? Did she say “I never thought a girl who starred in Glitter would ever earn anything but a Razzie”?

Fortunately, my guesses were nothing close to what really happened at the 2010 Palm Springs International Film Festival. While accepting the award for Breakthrough Actress, the Precious actress made us all think back to that wild interview with Carson Daly a long time ago. But in this case, I think she was simply having a very good time.

Daniel Radcliffe: Too Mature to Party

Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Warner Bros, Celebrity Gossip

Daniel Radcliffe -- serious actorDaniel Radcliffe claims that he is too old for partying.

The 20-year-old star no longer socializes with the rest of the Harry Potter cast and crew because he wants to carve out a career as a respected actor: “I used to play a lot of pranks in the past but I want to be a more mature, serious actor now. I don’t get involved with drinking or partying with the cast anymore.”

The actor also blasted stars who are only interested in fame, insisting he hates being “a celebrity.” He is quoted by Britain’s Daily Star as saying:

“I hate celebrity culture, but I’m unavoidably part of it. These people are celebrities as a by-product of what they do. People read every little thing about Peter Andre and Jordan and I couldn’t care less. They don’t want to work, have no interests, no passions, nothing and yet they seem to be held up on pedestals. I don’t think they should be trying to push themselves onto us. It does annoy me of course, but I’m part of it.”

Daniel’s serious attitude appears to be in contrast to his Harry Potter co-star Rupert Grint, who has been spotted at several UK music festivals this summer and makes no secret of his love of wild nights out.

Kathleen Turner Talks About Nic Cage Lawsuit

Put Description HereAlthough they survived a tumultuous relationship in Peggy Sue Got Married, and may now be heading to court.  The Ghost Rider star has just filed a defamation and libel case in London’s High Court based on statements his former co-star has made.

In Turner’s new autobiography, Send Yourself Roses: Thoughts on My Life, Love, and Leading Roles, the actress alleges Cage had problems with theft and drinking during the production of their 1986 movie.  In the book, she states:

“He caused so many problems. He was arrested twice for drunk-driving and, I think, once for stealing a dog. He’d come across a chihuahua he liked and stuck it in his jacket.”

Well Cage, 44, was not too pleased by those remarks (as proven by the suit) and has gone on the record denying her claims.  (I would think a quick background check would quickly settle this matter.  In fact, didn’t her book have a fact checker?)
