Gael Garcia Bernal Wants Legal Drugs
Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Celeb News, Celebrity Gossip
Gael Garcia Bernal has called for drugs to be legalized.
The Mexican actor says the trade of illegal substances is the cause of the majority of problems in his home country and believes that if they were decriminalized, it would reduce crime.
The Motorcycle Diaries star explained, “Drugs are illegal—therefore, there’s a fight. I hope drugs become legalized in Mexico. If drugs were legal, there would be nothing to fight about.”
Gael is not the only actor to call for drugs to be legalized. Earlier this year, Rhys Ifans admitted he considers marijuana a “beneficial herb” and is adamant that it should be freely available. The Welsh actor, who is currently filming Mr. Nice, a biopic of notorious cannabis smuggler Howard Marks, said,
“A lot of people like dope in Wales and Howard is its champion. The reason why he sold it is because he thinks, and I agree, that it’s a beneficial herb. I feel marijuana should be legalized. Not so that people get high all over the place, but so it can be controlled. Drugs have been legal longer than they have been illegal, and it’s just hypocrisy to be able to sell alcohol to children while marijuana is illegal.”
Jason Bateman Considers Drug Boost
Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Miramax, Satire, Comedy, Celebrity Gossip
Jason Bateman thinks that being a drug addict would land him more roles.
The Extract star admits he worries that his clean-cut image is spoiling his chances of landing edgier film roles and things he needs to find a way to sully his reputation (Beavis and Butthead will tell you otherwise).
“I’m not sure there’s a lot of money in that kind of image in Hollywood. What I need to do is generate a drug problem and cheat on my wife a little bit and get caught with some little starlet on the French Riviera.”
Despite his reputation, Jason insists his life hasn’t always been trouble free and he is glad he could make mistakes out of the public eye. He added to Parade:
“The truth is I wasn’t a guy who stayed out of trouble. I had worked so much when I was a kid that I didn’t get to go to college. My 20s were my fraternity life. I made a bunch of bad decisions, but I didn’t end up getting arrested. Fortunately, celebrity journalism was not around and I got away with it.”

Approximately two weeks after Heath Ledger’s passing, we now officially know the cause of death. The 28-year-old actor died from an accidental overdose.
The initial autopsy finished shortly after the Jan. 22nd event proved inconclusive. The New York City Medical Examiner needed to perform toxicology and tissue tests for a definitive answer.
“Mr. Heath Ledger died as the result of acute intoxication by the combined effects of oxycodone, hydrocodone, diazepam, temazepam, alprazolam, and doxylamine. We have concluded that the manner of death is accident, resulting from the abuse of prescription medications.”
Although police believed the death may have been drug-related, no illegal substances were ever found in the home. Ledger only possessed bottles of prescription pills. Several of the the drugs factored in his death are used as painkillers; others were taken for sleeping and anti-anxiety.

BREAKING NEWS: Heath Ledger Found Dead
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Celeb News, Celebrity Gossip, Obituaries
On a day when Hollywood should be celebrating movies, actors are instead mourning the loss of one of their own.
Actor Heath Ledger was found dead this afternoon in New York by his housekeeper. The star in this year’s The Dark Knight was only 28. While no official cause of death has been released, it appears it may have been drug-related.
Ledger, a Best Actor nominee for 2005’s Brokeback Mountain, leaves behind a 2-year-old daughter. Matilda’s mother, actress Michelle Williams, met Heath in 2004 on the set of their Oscar-nominated movie. Although it was often rumored the two were married, the couple parted ways last September. Prior to Williams, Ledger had been in an on-and-off relationship with another former co-star, Naomi Watts.
In addition to this year’s Batman sequel, Ledger’s work can currently be seen in I’m Not There (co-starring recent nominee Cate Blanchett).
Mel Gibson - Heath’s co-star in 2000’s The Patriot - just released this statement to Entertainment Tonight about the tragic news:
“I had such great hope for him. He was just taking off and to lose his life at such a young age is a tragic loss. My thoughts and prayers are with him and his family.”

Unfortunately, the young star’s career was dotted with more notable lows than highs. Renfro’s troubled past included theft, DUIs and heroin possession.

Lindsay Lohan’s Ex Spills to Tabloid
Posted by K.C. Morgan Categories: Celebrity Gossip
Riley Giles, who dated megastar Lindsay Lohan, talked sex, drugs, and rehab in a recent tell-all interview with News of the World, a British mag. His candid comments covered a sexually-explicit mountain retreat from rehab and her cocaine habit. The tenor of remarks - which Riley was allegedly paid for - suggests that Lohan has an addictive personality and that she craved sex with him in lieu of cocaine. (Okay, his statements don’t suggest that - they outright say that, but I’m paraphrasing.)
Giles goes on to call his ex “insatiable” and also describes the actress naked (and in loving detail). The star did bare it all (or, at least, most of it) in I Know Who Killed Me, so most of the men who have seen her movies could no doubt do the same.
