VIDEO: Mariah Carey’s Drunken Acceptance Speech
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Awards, Celeb News, Celebrity Gossip, Videos
When an Oscar-winning screenwriter says “Mariah Carey just gave the most awesome acceptance speech of all time,” it’s bound to get people interested.
So when Diablo Cody (Juno) tweeted that message last night, a million different scenarios ran through my head. Did Mariah accept the award on behalf of “all the Precious girls out there”? Did she say “I never thought a girl who starred in Glitter would ever earn anything but a Razzie”?
Fortunately, my guesses were nothing close to what really happened at the 2010 Palm Springs International Film Festival. While accepting the award for Breakthrough Actress, the Precious actress made us all think back to that wild interview with Carson Daly a long time ago. But in this case, I think she was simply having a very good time.

Daniel Radcliffe: Too Mature to Party
Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Warner Bros, Celebrity Gossip
Daniel Radcliffe claims that he is too old for partying.
The 20-year-old star no longer socializes with the rest of the Harry Potter cast and crew because he wants to carve out a career as a respected actor: “I used to play a lot of pranks in the past but I want to be a more mature, serious actor now. I don’t get involved with drinking or partying with the cast anymore.”
The actor also blasted stars who are only interested in fame, insisting he hates being “a celebrity.” He is quoted by Britain’s Daily Star as saying:
“I hate celebrity culture, but I’m unavoidably part of it. These people are celebrities as a by-product of what they do. People read every little thing about Peter Andre and Jordan and I couldn’t care less. They don’t want to work, have no interests, no passions, nothing and yet they seem to be held up on pedestals. I don’t think they should be trying to push themselves onto us. It does annoy me of course, but I’m part of it.”
Daniel’s serious attitude appears to be in contrast to his Harry Potter co-star Rupert Grint, who has been spotted at several UK music festivals this summer and makes no secret of his love of wild nights out.

Shia LeBeouf Arrested in Chicago
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Celeb News, Celebrity Gossip
This year’s ‘It’ boy has just surpassed another noteworthy milestone on his rise to stardom: the drunken arrest.
The star of Disturbia, Surf’s Up and Transformers was detained early this morning in The Windy City after refusing to leave a Walgreens. A security guard, believing Shia LeBeouf to be drunk, told Shia to exit the store. The Chicago Police Department was then asked to step in when the actor refused to cooperate. (Apparently he’s not used to taking instruction from someone other than a director.) LeBeouf - who was reportedly ‘very courteous and polite’ with authorities - posted bail after being detained for several hours. He is scheduled to appear in court on November 28 for misdemeanor criminal trespassing.
Interestingly enough, the actor held off celebrating his 21st birthday last June because of his work on Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. LeBeouf told Vanity Fair he wanted to finish the Indy project before taking a sip. “People say, ‘What are you doing for your 21st birthday, Shia?’ And I’m like, ‘I’m making an Indiana Jones movie.’ What’s better than that?” (The movie is currently in post-production, so it appears he may have been a man of his word.)
And while news of a young male star slipping up is hard to come by these days, I found today’s celeb arrest to be mildly disappointing. Seriously—who hasn’t been kicked out of a store when they were 21?
