Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson has been named 2013's top-grossing actor.
The four movies the 42-year-old star appeared in this year - Fast & Furious 6, G. I. Joe: Retaliation, Pain & Gain, and Snitch - banked a collective $1.3 billion at the global box office, putting him just ahead of second-placed Robert Downey Jr., who only released one movie in 2013, the highest-grossing production Iron Man 3, which took $1.2 billion.
Despicable Me 2 star Steve Carrell ranked third, with his work - including The Way Way Back and The Incredible Burt Wonderstone - bringing in $964 million, while WWE Superstar Dwayne's Fast & Furious 6 co-star, Riddick actor Vin Diesel placed fourth with $887 million.
Gravity and The Heat's successes with audiences helped propel Sandra Bullock to number five in the list - compiled by Forbes - with her movies grossing a total of $862 million this year. In sixth place was another Fast & Furious 6 actor, the late Paul Walker, who passed away last month after a car accident, bringing in $789 million, all of which came from the latest installment of the action franchise.

Kellan Lutz Couldn’t Get as Big as Dwayne Johnson for ‘Hercules’

Kellan Lutz jokes he can't match rival Hercules Dwayne Johnson's physique.
The two actors play the Greek hero in separate movies, and the Hercules: The Legend Begins star joked his body could never match up to The Rock's.
"I wanted to get big, but then you have The Rock playing in the other Hercules. There's not enough 'extra-curricular' stuff for that," he told E! News.
The 28-year-old star has still put himself through a tough and ''rigorous'' training regime to getting into top shape for the film: "I wanted to put on weight. Renny [Harlin] the director, he just wanted me cut, so I had to get cut ... For me, it was very rigorous training. I had to learn how to ride a horse while wielding a sword and fighting mercenaries, as well as giving a badass speech and in the rain. And horses don't like the rain. It was very rigorous."
Kellan also revealed while he can't match the Hercules: The Thracian Wars star in terms of his physique, he's been glad to let himself indulge in some sweet treats on set: "If you've ever been on a movie set, there's food all the time. It's hard to stay healthy because I had milk chocolate bars three times a day, and I'd just eat the whole bar."
Rihanna Lands Fast and Furious Role

Rihanna has landed a role in the sixth The Fast and the Furious film.
The singer - who recently saw her first movie part in Battleship, based on the popular boardgame - will play the villain in the film, which will star Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson and Vin Diesel.
"Rihanna impressed with her acting debut in Battleship. Writers think she will be perfect for the role. Her character has plenty of bite and doesn't take any prisoners - just like her in real life. It's a step up the ladder for her and could lead to bigger action roles," a source told The Sun.
The film will be set in London, meaning the "You Da One" hitmaker could be spending time in the British capital as soon as next month. Some scenes will also be shot in Essex while London is unavailable due to the 2012 Olympic Games.

You can’t keep a good woman with long locks down.
Despite initially debuting in second place, Tangled reached new heights this week. The Disney feature climbed out of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallow’s shadow to take the box office crown.
Tangled is now the second film this year to move up the ladder to the #1 spot. Another animated featured, How to Train Your Dragon, was the first.
The chart’s only new wide release, The Warrior’s Way, will likely fall out of the Top Ten by Week 2. The actioner starring Jang Dong-gun, Kate Bosworth and Geoffrey Rush started its run in ninth place.

Box Office Breakdown: Deathly Hallows Avoids Getting Tangled

Tangled's tresses weren't quite long enough to get past the Deathly Hallows last weekend.
Despite a $48.8 million debut ($68.7 million since Wednesday), Disney's latest animated feature found itself in a tight race. The film starring Mandy Moore and Zachary Levi landed firmly into second place -- approximately $300,000 shy of two-time winner Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.
Burlesque, featuring Christina Aguilera and Cher, rang up $11.9 million in ticket sales and a fourth-place finish. Although that figure isn't exactly something to brag about, it does represent Cher's biggest opening to date.
Promises of nudity couldn't get Love and Other Drugs into the Top 5. The Anne Hathaway/Jake Gyllenhaal movie earned less than $10 million and a sixth place debut. Meanwhile, Faster -- starring Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson and Billy Bob Thornton -- grossed $8.5 million for seventh place.

Patrick Dempsey: Michael Bay has paged Dr. Shepherd for next year’s Transformers 3. Not much is known about Dempsey’s “darker character,” but the Grey’s Anatomy hunk will reportedly serve as Megan Fox’s boss. That’s probably all he needs to know.

Box Office Breakdown: Cop Out Misses Out
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: 20th Century Fox, Fox Searchlight, Lionsgate, Paramount, Sony, Warner Bros, Action, Adaptation, Adventure, Drama, Family, Horror, Music, Romance, Science Fiction, Comedy, Thrillers, Box Office, Lists,
When is a second place finish considered good news? When it’s the biggest debut you’ve had in your career.
Despite recently being kicked off a Southwest Airlines flight and losing out to Shutter Island, Kevin Smith still has something to smile about. His latest directorial project, Cop Out, opened to $18.2 million over the weekend. That figure surpasses his previous best of $11.1 million for 2001’s Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back.
And while Bruce Willis has clearly seen better days, he hasn’t in some time. Fortunately, his comedic partnership with Tracy Morgan raised over $3 million more than his last major outing, Surrogates, did last September.
