Ashley Greene Calls Eclipse Guy Friendly

Of the third installment of the Twilight saga, Eclipse, actress Ashley Greene assures us that it is “guy friendly.”
Pointing to the fact that director David Slade, who helmed both 30 Days of Night and Hard Candy (I know what you’re thinking), wants to take the Twilight film in a darker direction.
“I think it’ll be different.I think it’s going to be a battle between the studio and the director, and it’s going to be a hard balance, ‘cause I think he’s… a little more focused on it being real and maybe it being gorier and a little dark and kind of dramatic.”
She went on to describe how the first film centers on love, whereas Eclipse will focus on the vampire-werewolf drama, hence leading to more action sequences.
“The first one was very focused on this love story and really sweet and it was beautiful, but it didn’t have a lot of stuff that guys would go, ‘Yeah, I want to go see that.’ There’s going to be a lot more focus on [action], and the fight scene will have more emphasis on it. I definitely think it will be a little more guy-friendly.”
The film is slated for a June 30, 2010 release.

“I totally tried to get him to do it. I was like, ‘Baby, do Twilight!’ Oh, my god. I’m a huge Twilight fan. I’ve read all the books. So I was like, ‘You should do it, you should do it, you should do it!’”
Unfortunately for the two women, Tatum hesitated too long; Xavier Samuel has since snatched up the Eclipse role.

UPDATE: The studio calls the statement “uninformed and not accurate.”
Could Twilight soon be following Harry Potter‘s lead?
Although there are only seven books in J.K. Rowling’s series, the dramatic adaption will be drawn out over eight theatrical adaptations. Now there’s a rumor that the Stephenie Meyer’s tale could be extended as well.
According to an Eclipse cast member, there will actually be five segments in the Twilight saga. Actor Boo Boo Stewart and his rep both claim that he has been tapped for a trio of films.
