Snape Named Best Loved Harry Potter Character

Alan Rickman as Severus SnapeSeverus Snape has topped a poll to find the best loved Harry Potter character.

The wizard - played by Alan Rickman - received over 500 more votes than Harry's best pal Ron Weasley (Rupert Grint), who finished in second place and the titular character who placed third in the poll on Empire magazine's website.

"Snape is a truly great character, multi-layered and surprisingly complicated under that straggly black haircut. He's especially good in the film because of the way that Alan Rickman infuses him with malice and menace. He seems capable of anything - and indeed he is, in the end, but in a way you never expected. While Harry, Ron and Hermione may seem more heroic, Snape is definitely JK Rowling's most important and complex character," commented Empire's Deputy Online Editor, Helen O'Hara.

Harry's close pal Hermione Granger (Emma Watson) and his godfather Sirius Black (Gary Oldman) complete the top five.

Winona Ryder Confirms Heathers Sequel

Christian Slater and Winona Ryder in Heathers

As a fellow Veronica, I couldn’t think of anything more exciting.

In an interview with Empire, confirmed that there is a plan to bring Veronica Sawyer and Jason “JD” Dean back to the big screen. “Whatever you hear, there is a sequel in the works. I swear to God,” she revealed to the magazine. “But for some reason the writer Dan Waters and director Michael Lehman don’t want to talk about it. I’ve been wanting to do a sequel forever. There is a story, and Christian [Slater] has agreed to come back as a kind of Obi-Wan character.”

New Photos of Upcoming Hulk Movie

Nearly five years after Ang Lee’s disappointing abomination once referred to as Hulk, has given us all a new hope: .

With the help of Transporter director Louis Leterrier, Norton re-wrote Zak Penn’s (X-Men: The Last Stand, Fantastic Four) script, which was intended to be a sequel to Lee’s 2003 atrocity. Back with a better cast (, Robert Downey Jr., Tim Roth, and William Hurt) and a better director (let’s face it, Lee has done nothing noteworthy other than post-Hulk, Oscar-friendly Brokeback Mountain), the film is clearly going to be great.

Empire Magazine has released new photos of the movie, which is set to release in mid-June of this year:
