Danny Dyer Fears Typecasting

Danny DyerDanny Dyer was asked to appear in a film called Cockneys vs. Zombies.

The London-born actor admits he tired of being offered the same type of roles - as a British hardman - and singled out the horror movie as the biggest low point he reached.

“I turned down a movie recently called Cockneys vs. Zombies. I thought ‘F**k me, for f**k’s sake’. That’s the final nail in the coffin for me. The fact they even had the front to use that title. I didn’t even turn the first page of the script.”

The Human Traffic star says rejecting the script was a relatively new thing for him because he used to accept anything he was offered out of a fear of rejection:

“So I’m learning, like I said, when you struggle as an actor for so long, and being an actor is about rejection, being told no all the time, so when you get on a run, and people start writing parts for you, you can get a bit carried away with that and say yes to everything. And I’ve had a bit of a spell of going, ‘Yeah, OK, I feel privileged that you want me in your film’. You’ve got to rein that in and say ‘No, it’s not going to test me, it’s not going to challenge me, it’s nothing new.”

Dyer’s Football Foul-Ups DVD is available to buy now.

Daniel Day-Lewis Scared of Singing

Daniel Day-Lewis with co-star Marion Cotillard in NineDaniel Day-Lewis didn’t think his singing and dancing was good enough to star in new musical movie Nine.

The Oscar-winning actor, who plays Italian film director Guido Contini in the hotly-anticipated film, had a crisis of confidence and asked the director Rob Marshall if there was anyone else who could take his role, because he had no confidence in his voice.

“I did say to Rob in the early stages, ‘Is there anyway of getting out of this? I have a list of actors who could do it tomorrow!’ He tried to convince me I could sing and I said, ‘You’ve no idea if I can sing or not!’ I sang feebly a couple of times, and on the grounds of that Rob managed to convince me it was worth pursuing.”

The 52-year-old actor, who is famous for his method acting, also joked that dancing was difficult because his body is so “creaky”: “I can do a lot of stuff, I can climb, I can run, I can cycle, I can box, but I can’t dance. I used a lot of 3-in-1 to lubricate those stiff joints. It’s not natural grace - that’s sheer effort of will. My limbs are a mass of scar tissue through years of doing things I shouldn’t have.”

Daniel stars in Nine alongside Penelope Cruz, Dame Judi Dench and Nicole Kidman.

Tori Spelling Terrified of Phones

Tori Spelling toting around her Blackberry PearlKiss the Bride star Tori Spelling has a phobia of phones.

The former Beverly Hills 90210 star admits she can’t communicate by regular telecom systems and has to rely on her Blackberry to keep in contact with friends and family (wait, isn’t that a phone?).

“I don’t like the phone. I know I’m an oddity, but I’m terrified of the phone. I communicate with my Blackberry—it has saved my life. My husband Dean hates it, but I have to have it with me at all times.”

Tori, who is mother to son Liam, two, and 16-month-old daughter Stella, also revealed she no longer has the money to continually spoil her children.

The blonde actress, who was left a derisory amount in her late millionaire TV producer father Aaron Spelling’s will, said, “Given my financial situation, as it stands, the only thing I can really spoil them with is love—and that’s the most important thing, so I have no worries with that! Family dinner is extremely important to me. Our schedules are so chaotic right now, but I’m really trying.”
