First Look: Ben Affleck as Batman

Ben Affleck as Batman

Well hasn't Zack Snyder showed us all up.

The director recently took to his Twitter to showcase both his photographic and directing abilities with a black and white image featuring Ben Affleck as Batman in his upcoming Man of Steel sequel. While there was a lot of backlash from fans about the casting announcement last August, the Argo director looks like he's filling out Christian Bale's batsuit quite well after all.

PHOTO: First Look at ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’

Guardians of the Galaxy

While Parks and Rec fans noticed Chris Pratt's dramatic weight loss and temporary exit from the series to film Guardians of the Galaxy, little else has truly been known about the Disney/Marvel project - until now.

The studio released the first official promotional photo of the comic book adaptation (above) on the last day of 2013, as well as an official synopsis:

"An action-packed, epic space adventure, Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy expands the Marvel Cinematic Universe into the cosmos, where brash adventurer Peter Quill (Pratt) finds himself the object of an unrelenting bounty hunt after stealing a mysterious orb coveted by Ronan (Lee Pace), a powerful villain with ambitions that threaten the entire universe. To evade the ever-persistent Ronan, Quill is forced into an uneasy truce with a quartet of disparate misfits–Rocket, a gun-toting raccoon (voiced by Bradley Cooper), Groot, a tree-like humanoid (voiced by Vin Diesel), the deadly and enigmatic Gamora (Zoe Saldana) and the revenge-driven Drax the Destroyer (Dave Bautista). But when Peter discovers the true power of the orb and the menace it poses to the cosmos, he must do his best to rally his ragtag rivals for a last, desperate stand -  with the galaxy’s fate in the balance."

First Look: Dornan, Johnson as ‘Fifty Shades of Grey’ Couple

Jamie Dornan and Dakota Johnson as Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele

Does Jamie Dornan get into character faster than you can say, "Tie me up," or what?

Less than a month has passed by since Dornan was cast as Charlie Hunnam's replacement for the role of Christian Grey in the film adaptation of Fifty Shades of Grey, and Entertainment Weekly is already showcasing him and co-star Dakota Johnson in character (as if the film even needs that much promotional work ahead of its release!).

Dornan is seen giving one of the most intense, sexual stares probably to ever grace an entertainment magazine while Johnson - in her recently darkened locks - looks unsurprisingly innocent, wide-eyed, and Lolita-like. The infamous silver tie featured on the cover of the book also makes an appearance, tied tightly around Dornan's fist.

Despite the apparent rush to begin promotional work for the film, fans will have to wait until February of 2015 to see it hit theaters. Talk about torture!

First Look: Michael Douglas, Matt Damon in Soderbergh’s Liberace Biopic

Michael Douglas as Liberace

Michael Douglas takes on one of his boldest roles yet as the famous pianist and singer Liberace in a biopic about his last days, directed by Steven Soderbergh. In a still released today from the film - titled Behind the Candelabra, the name of the memoir written by the musician's young lover Scott Thorson - costume and cosmetics make Douglas nearly unrecognizable!

Matt Damon plays Thorson in the film (photo seen after the jump), who famously filed a $113 million palimony suit against Liberace in 1982. Rob Lowe, Dan Ackroyd, and Debbie Reynolds also appear in the film, which will air on HBO.

The heavy use of CGI and casting of Pitt definitely cements its blockbuster status, but hopefully it won't be all that bad. The complete first trailer will be unveiled this week, but fans will have to wait until June 21, 2013 to see it in theaters.

First Look: Breaking Dawn’s Bella and Edward in Bed

Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattison in bed in Breaking Dawn

There are no feathers ... or stockings ... or beach blankets in this new still from Breaking Dawn. All we have is flesh.

In this romantic photo from the next Twilight installment, we see Bella (Kristen Stewart) and Edward (Robert Pattinson) -- now husband and wife -- together on their wedding night. (Something tells me another Best Kiss award is in their future.)

First Look: Andrew Garfield in His Spider-Man Suit

Andrew Garfield in Spider-Man costume

It's been quite the week for Social Network stars.

Yesterday, we got to see Rooney Mara as Lisbeth Salander, her character in The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo remake. Now, we're getting our first look at Andrew Garfield (in costume) in the Spider-Man reboot.

In an earlier interview, Garfield said he feels "very, very lucky that I get to wear spandex for the next few months." Unfortunately for us, it's going to take more than just a few months -- over a year! -- to see him suited up on screen.

What do you think of this first still? Does it make you excited to watch the Spider-Man series ... again?

The as-yet-untitled film will debut on July 3, 2012.
