First Look: Nightmare on Elm Street Trailer Unveiled
Elm Street just got dangerous again. The re-made movie craze is still in full effect in Hollywood, because who wants to watch anything even remotely original? It’s much, much easier to just grab one of the dust-ridden scripts from the 80s and re-work it with a bunch of PR crap about how it’s all been re-packaged for a “new generation.” Because, apparently, the new generation has no idea how to get to the video rental store.
Anyway, here’s the trailer for the new Nightmare on Elm Street. It’s doubtful Johnny Depp will sign on to reprise his role and neither will Robert Englund. This time around, Freddy Krueger will be played by Oscar nominee Jackie Earle Haley (Little Children).

Jackie Earle Haley is the New Freddy Krueger
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: New Line, Horror, Casting, Celeb News, Upcoming Releases
For his next role, Jackie Earle Haley will be combining his experience of scaring minors (Little Children) with his ability to get lost in costume (Watchmen).
It’s just been announced that the Oscar nominee will be taking over the role previously linked to the unforgettable Robert Englund. Haley will now be the new face of Freddy Krueger for A Nightmare on Elm Street.
The horror series - which has already birthed nine installments - is being brought back to life by New Line and Platinum Dunes (Michael Bay’s production company). Samuel Bayer has been tapped to direct the film while Kyle Gallner (The Haunting in Connecticut) has been cast as one of Freddy’s targets.
Production on the film is scheduled to begin next month.

Will Lindsay Lohan Be Moving to Elm Street?
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: New Line, Horror, Casting, Celeb News, Celebrity Gossip, Upcoming Releases

UPDATE: Another producer on the film is now denying that the report is true.
Is Lindsay Lohan setting herself up to be the next scream queen?
According to Just Jared, the 22-year-old will be following up her Razzie Award-winning performance in I Know Who Killed Me with another horror film. Lohan has just agreed to star in the remake of A Nightmare on Elm Street.
“We were lucky to receive a call from Jason Weinberg, Lindsay’s manager,” producer Andrew Form told JustJared.com. “He called us to tell us that Lindsay was very interested in the film and wanted to be a part of it. We called Jason back after Wesley Strick finished the script and asked if Lindsay wanted to look at the first draft. She looked it over and loved it. She thought this was the perfect vehicle for her.”

Sequel News: ‘Cloverfield’, ‘Nightmare on Elm Street’
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: New Line, Paramount, Horror, Sequels, Thrillers, Upcoming Releases
Cloverfield - a movie that’s only two weeks old - has already earned itself sequel buzz. While that shouldn’t be surprising news given the film’s stellar debut numbers, the movie did drop 68% in its second week. And let’s not forget the movie’s ending. Wouldn’t the movie be better served as a stand-alone piece….or do people really need further explanation?
Well, regardless of what I might think, the negotiations have already begun. Its Paramount‘s hope that the three behind the first installment - director Matt Reeves, producer J.J. Abrams and writer Drew Goddard - will return to create them a monster-sized hit. Who knows? I actually found myself enjoying 28 Weeks Later, and I was convinced that would be a disaster.
