VIDEO: John Corbett Confirms Sex and the City 2 Appearance

UPDATE: You can see Corbett in the new SATC trailer here.

Turns out blogger Perez Hilton was right after all - former Sex and the City cast member John Corbett is a liar. But it’s okay, because Corbett was under orders not to reveal the truth. Lucky for spoiler-watchers, the actor is breaking his silence.

During a recent appearance on Lopez Tonight, John Corbett spilled the beans: he will have a role on . Those who remember Corbett from the series may know him better as Aidan Quinn, Carrie’s on-again off-again boyfriend/fiance from Seasons 2 and 3. “I was under orders not to say I was in that movie,” Corbett admitted to George Lopez.

Months ago, pictures of Corbett in Morocco surfaced. Rumors that he’s in the flick soon also surfaced - though they were categorically denied by the actor. But now, we can confirm: Aidan will be appearing in the movie. We can only speculate as to where the story will lead.

Remake News: Speedy Gonzales, Pet Semetary and More

Speedy Gonzales: George Lopez has already voiced a chihuahua, so it’s only logical he would take on Mexico’s fastest mouse next. The comedian is now set to lead a live-action/CG hybrid version of Speedy Gonzales, the famous animated series from the 1950’s. Although the cartoon’s depictions have been labeled racist in recent years, Ann Lopez, George’s wife/producing partner, promises the storyline will be updated for the times. “Speedy’s going to be a misunderstood boy who comes from a family that works in a very meticulous setting, and he’s a little too fast for what they do,” she explained. “He makes a mess of that. So he has to go out in the world to find what he’s good at.”

And yes - the 20th Century Fox feature is now the top international earner at $1.29 billion. But James Cameron’s earlier blockbuster is still slightly ahead - by approximately $2 million - as far as worldwide receipts are concerned. (Monday’s ticket sales should change that for Avatar.) The 3D-adventure is also approximately $49.1 million shy of becoming the domestic king of the world.
