Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Disney, Musicals, Sequels, Box Office

Who knew Troy Bolton was bigger than Harry Potter?
In light of UK’s early response to High School Musical 3, don’t be surprised to see another HSM installment in the theaters soon. Even though the movie won’t open for another 3 weeks, the musical has already set overseas presale records.
As of October 1, Odeon Cinemas - UK’s biggest theater chain - has already made £245,205 ($432,504) in advance ticket sales. That figure surpasses the record set by Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. The fourth wizard film raised £227,000 ($400,393) back in 2005.

Yes, yes. You’ve probably already seen the High School Musical 3 trailer, posters and extra clips…but have you see the music video?
While there are no Zac/Vanessa duets in this clip, we do get Sharpay and Ryan belting their hearts out to “I Want It All.” (BTW - I think Ashley Tisdale looks 10x better with a lot less hair.)
You can watch Part II of this song after the jump.

As a High School Musical observer (I can’t really call myself a true fan), I have to say the interviews in the following preview are painfully boring.
But when watched in mute, this clip does provide a few visual treats not see in the previous trailer.
High School Musical 3: Senior Year checks into theaters on October 24.

High School Musical: The New Class
More than one thousand kids from around the world tried out for High School Musical 3: Senior Year, and after an extensive search Disney has picked three of them to become the stars of tomorrow. The three new talents will play sophomores at East High, bringing some much-needed fresh blood to the set. Avid Disney watchers will recognize Matt Prokop from Hannah Montana, but British-born Jemma McKenzie-Brown is a little harder to place (her acting creds include work on BBC). Justin Martin, the third addition to the cast, was seen in ABC’s A Raisin in the Sun.
Director Kenny Ortega says the three newbies will bring a lot of “musical fun” to the film, claiming that Jemma offers impressive singing and dancing. Ortega boasted of Matt’s comedy skills and Justin’s “presence and charisma.” The movie will hit the big screen in October, with filming set to being in Utah within the next few weeks.
