Silver Screen Queen Jane Wyman Bows Out

Jane WymanJane Wyman, whose acting credits include more than forty movies, a starring role on Falcon Crest, and several awards, passed away at age ninety-three on Monday. Though Wyman won an http://movies.gearlive.com/movies/article/the-2007-academy-awards-3252007445/ Academy Award and enjoyed a lengthy Hollywood career, she is perhaps best known for being the first wife of actor-turned-politician Ronald Reagan. She passed away at her home in Palm Springs. The Wyman-Reagan marriage ended the same year the actress won the Oscar for her role in Johnny Belinda, and Jane remained close-mouthed to the press after Reagan became the President. She told reporters it was bad taste to talk about ex-husbands and wives, and at Reagan’s passing in 2004 said he was a “great, kind and gentle man.” Together, the couple had three children – one that did not survive, and one they jointly adopted. Wyman retreated from the public view after her nearly decade-long stint with Falcon Crest was over, putting a cap on her forty years in the entertainment industry.
