Box Office Breakdown: Inception Holds (Off) the Salt

So remind me again - why exactly did Tom Cruise drop out of Salt?
The thriller Cruise was once attached to fired up $36 million over the past three days - nearly $15 million more than Knight and Day did just four weeks ago. (That movie, by the way, just fell out of the Top 10 after only four weeks.) Salt‘s numbers, though, did not match Angelina Jolie’s previous actioners (e.g. Wanted, Mr. & Mrs. Smith, Tomb Raider). The Sony film also failed to boot Inception out of first place.
Meanwhile, Ramona and Beezus, the weekend’s only other new wide release, failed to even cross the $10 million mark. But Beverly Cleary lovers shouldn’t feel bad - the adaptation only cost about $15 million to produce.

VIDEO: John Corbett Confirms Sex and the City 2 Appearance

UPDATE: You can see Corbett in the new SATC trailer here.
Turns out blogger Perez Hilton was right after all - former Sex and the City cast member John Corbett is a liar. But it’s okay, because Corbett was under orders not to reveal the truth. Lucky for spoiler-watchers, the actor is breaking his silence.
During a recent appearance on Lopez Tonight, John Corbett spilled the beans: he will have a role on Sex and the City 2. Those who remember Corbett from the series may know him better as Aidan Quinn, Carrie’s on-again off-again boyfriend/fiance from Seasons 2 and 3. “I was under orders not to say I was in that movie,” Corbett admitted to George Lopez.
Months ago, pictures of Corbett in Morocco surfaced. Rumors that he’s in the flick soon also surfaced - though they were categorically denied by the actor. But now, we can confirm: Aidan will be appearing in the movie. We can only speculate as to where the story will lead.

John Corbett Denies Role in Sex and the City 2
Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: New Line, Warner Bros, Romance, Sequels, Comedy, Casting, Celebrity Gossip, Rumors, Upcoming Releases,
UPDATE: Turns out Corbett was lying after all. He now admits that he will be in the film.
Sorry, ladies—John Corbett will not be appearing in Sex and the City 2.
The 48-year-old actor, who played Carrie Bradshaw’s love interest Aidan Shaw, laughed off speculation that he would be a part of the upcoming sequel. “There have been some rumors around that I’m going to be in it but they’re just not true. I’d love to, I love all those people, they’re good friends. I’m jealous, I want to be in those movies,” Corbett said.
John also claimed that the four leading ladies - Sarah Jessica Parker, Kim Cattrall, Kristin Davis and Cynthia Nixon - would likely keep on making more films together. “I think it’ll go on until they’re old bag ladies,” he joked.
Sex and the City 2 will be released worldwide in May.

Twister: Actor Bill Paxton recently expressed interest in doing another Twister film. Question is: is anyone else interested? (Aside from the Balloon Boy family?) Bill believes 3-D technology and a history angle could bring added elements to the disaster story. “I think you’d still want to have a lot of the dark humor and all of that, with the flying cows and everything. I think you could kind of intrigue people more by getting into a little more of the lore and really understanding. I just think there’s a lot more to explore there,” Paxton said.
