Quote of the Day: Chris Weitz on Kissing Scenes

Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson in New Moon

“It’s not like when they’re about to kiss, I’m leaning in and saying, just off camera, ‘Tender, tender!’ or anything like that. I just let them do their thing. Kingsley, who once played Ghandi, describe the kiss as “very passionate.” The controversial kiss is already getting attention, though the movie isn’t slated for release until next year – and the scene in question was filmed only last week. Kingsley is a therapist in the film, trading pot for therapy session with a young drug dealer. Olsen is one of the dealer’s customers. The kiss is almost the only on-screen time the two share together, as each character goes their separate ways after the steamy moment. The movie marks Mary-Kate’s return to the big screen since 2004’s New York Minute, which featured both Mary-Kate and Ashley
