Tom Cruise on a Mission to Cast Katie Holmes

Tom Cruise wants Katie Holmes to play a villain in the next Mission: Impossible movie.
The actor - who stars as spy Ethan Hunt in the action franchise - is desperate to work with his wife and believes an evil part for her in the fourth film would be perfect because he doesn’t want them to play a couple on screen.
“Tom is very excited about taking Mission: Impossible in a new direction and he sees Katie as a big part of that,” a source said. “They have wanted to work together for a while now but the idea of being a couple on screen in a romantic comedy is a bit dull. This might give them a chance to have some fun both as a couple and as hero and villainess.”
Katie - who has a three-year-old daughter, Suri, with Tom - recently admitted she loves bringing her home life into her acting roles. “In my own life, my whole world really revolves around my family. I do what I need to do, but it’s like, ‘How is everybody else doing?’ And it’s wonderful for me as an actress to put some of that into a character,” Holmes said.

Wolverine: Oscar award-winning screenwriter Christopher McQuarrie (The Usual Suspects) has been tapped to write the follow-up to Wolverine. The movie, which will be produced by Hugh Jackman, is not to be confused with the Deadpool spinoff focusing on Ryan Reynold’s character. This Japan-set film will follow Wolverine as he struggles between his killer instincts and the noble life of samurais. McQuarrie also did some work on the 2000 X-Men film.

Here’s the latest scoop on the sequel buzz spreading across Hollywood:
Mission Impossible: Even though he could do just about anything he wants these days, Star Trek‘s J.J. Abrams will be returning to familiar territory. Three years after the debut of MI:3, the director has agreed to reteam with Tom Cruise on a fourth installment. (Apparently the actor wasn’t listening when I said he should stay away from this project.) Although they are both only listed as producers at this point, things could change for the busy men once a script is finalized. Paramount is currently aiming for a 2011 release.

Why Tom Cruise Should Avoid Mission Impossible 4
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Paramount, Action, Sequels, Rumors

Although I can’t say that I’m a huge fan of Tom Cruise, I have to admit I found myself watching Oprah‘s recent two-day love fest about the man. (The curiosity was killing me.) On Day One, I found myself gagging when I heard him gloss over all the remarks he made about Brooke Shields. (His PR spin almost had me searching for my own set of anti-depressants.)
Day Two didn’t start out much better. Listening to his friends fawn all over “T.C.” almost made me nauseous. But then something helped change my mood a bit. I actually found myself remembering some of the good parts he had played.
