Those who live in New York have a unique opportunity: They might get to appear in the next Sex and the City movie. An open casting call will commence in Chelsea next Tuesday.
According to the ad, “SAG and non-SAG” actors are needed to play “fashion models, celebrity types, upscale socialists, urban club-goers, gays and lesbians, international types (Middle Eastern, Arabic, Asian, European, British), professional soccer players.”
The mind boggles to consider all the possibilities this gives us for upcoming sequel scenes.

Preview of New York, I Love You
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Drama, Romance, Trailers, Upcoming Releases

Last year, I had the pleasure of watching Paris, je t’aime (“Paris, I Love You”), a wonderful collaboration of work from 21 international directors. The movie was comprised of 18 separate short stories; each tale using a different district of Paris as its backdrop. While the city was not always front and center, it’s character was always felt.
Now one of Paris’ producers will be giving NYC its share of the spotlight. (As if Sex and the City didn’t already do that.) Next spring, a large ensemble of actors - including Kevin Bacon, Ethan Hawke, Rachel Bilson, Orlando Bloom and Natalie Portman (also in Paris) - will be sprinkled over New York, I Love You‘s 12 short stories. The segments will be told from the city’s 5 different boroughs.
Catch a preview of the new movie after the jump.

Posted by K.C. Morgan Categories: New Line, Romance, Comedy, New Releases

As masses of mostly-female fans huddled behind barriers wearing their promotional tank tops, the four women of the hour strolled down the red carpet for New York’s premiere of Sex and the City (the very last stop on a three-premiere tour for the movie), held at Radio City Music Hall. For this gala event, there is one concern which shines above all others: what did our Sexy ladies wear?

Three-Stop Premiere for SATC Movie
Posted by K.C. Morgan Categories: Paramount, Comedy, Rumors, Upcoming Releases
The much-anticipated Sex and the City movie will make its first premiere on May 12 in London’s Leichester Square. May 15 will see the flick in Berlin for another premiere. Then, after all the Sexy secrets are spilled, it will finally make its way home to New York for a premiere party on known territory (May 27).
Sex movie talk centers around the mysterious death, a plot point “leaked” by Cynthia Nixon in a recent interview. Other possible plot points have been bantered around by entertainment shows. I’ve seen the clips, and Cynthia Nixon looks great in the movie. But who’s destined to leave the franchise for ever? Let’s look at the possible candidates.

Heath Ledger Autopsy Offers No Answers
Posted by K.C. Morgan Categories: Celeb News, Obituaries
Twenty-eight-year-old Heath Ledger, who was recently found dead in his New York apartment, still has no official cause of death. The autopsy has been completed, but the results are inconclusive and now hinge upon test results which won’t be available for at least another ten days. Prescription sleeping pills were found near the body, and authorities are currently labeling the death an “accidental overdose.” Investigators say there is no evidence of either suicide or foul play.
At the moment, there are no plans for a memorial service and the Ledger family has asked to be allowed to grieve in private. Fans have been flocking to Ledger’s New York apartment to leave tokens of their sorrow, and Hollywood remains stunned by the news. He was a great talent.

‘I Am Legend’: I Am Unimpressed
Posted by K.C. Morgan Categories: Warner Bros, Action, Adaptation, Drama, Horror, Science Fiction, Thrillers, Upcoming Releases
The thin plot. The ridiculously unbelievable scenario. The misconceptions of biological warfare. If I Am Legend has a single saving grace, it must be mega-movie star Will Smith. Everything this man gets involved in turns to gold, and that’s the only reason I Am Legend will survive at the box office.
Okay, here’s the plot. Scientists create a virus, and this germ accidentally kills every single living human on Earth. Not the animals, mind you – just the humans. All but for Robert Neville, a military virologist played by Smith who has managed to survive. How? Well, that’s not really important to the movie-makers. By the way, there are some human-like creatures who have had odd effects from the infection and turn zombie-like. Zombies. That’s right, everybody, billion-dollar movie star Will Smith is starring in what is essentially a zombie flick.

‘Sex and the City’ Movie Books Big Guest Star
Posted by K.C. Morgan Categories: Romance, Comedy, Casting, Celebrity Gossip, Upcoming Releases

Little by little, news on the upcoming Sex and the City movie has made its way into the press. The latest rumor mill suggests that not only will the much-anticipated flick contain Mr. Big (Chris Noth), but a truly big guest star as well.
New York City mayor, Michael Bloomberg, will play himself in the movie, which is set primarily in Manhattan. The mayor will appear at Bryant Park in Manhattan for a night scene, but the mayor’s camp isn’t releasing any more details than that. Filming on the movie began in September, and recent shots from the set show that at least some part of the movie will take place in winter. Former NYC mayor Ed Koch made an appearance on the HBO TV series Sex and the City during his New York reign.

Jennifer Hudson Joins ‘Sex And The City’ Movie
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: New Line, Adaptation, Comedy, Casting
Jennifer Hudson is proving (to many jealous women out there) that her career did not peak with a silly little Oscar. The Academy Award winner has now been cast in the big screen version of Sex and the City.
The former American Idol contestant will be joining Sarah Jessica Parker, Kim Cattrall, Cynthia Nixon and Kristin Davis in the Big Apple. After months of talk, production on the HBO show-turned film will finally begin next week.
While plot details have yet been leaked, we do know that Jennifer will play Carrie Bradshaw’s assistant (Louise). Any guesses out there as to what that means? Did Carrie become a full-time writer at Vogue? Does this mean she will actually be working outside of her apartment…in an office?

The Big News on the Sex & The City Movie
Posted by K.C. Morgan Categories: New Line, Comedy, Casting, Celeb News, Rumors, Scripts, Upcoming Releases
Yes, the Sex & the City movie is a done deal. Contracts are signed, apparently the script is written, and production is going forward next month. By 2010, all the Sex fans will strap Monolos to their feet and be off to the theaters to celebrate this triumphant big-screen debut of a show that’s still being syndicated (and probably always will be).
Yes, a lot of filming will be done in the city of New York – you can’t have Sex without it. Yes, Kim Cattrall is definitely signed on to play Samantha Jones and is going forward with the flick (HBO offered her a series just to cinch the deal). Sarah Jessica Parker, Cynthia Nixon, and Kristin Davis will all set the big screen on fire as Carrie, Miranda, and Charlotte. But…there is still one more element that we all must have, or else we just can’t have Sex.
