Why the Olsen Twins Stopped Acting

Ashley Olsen didn't have the time to continue her acting career.
The 27-year-old beauty - who, along with her twin sister Mary-Kate, first appeared on US TV aged just nine months in Full House - last starred in a movie in 2004's New York Minute and admits she couldn't give her full commitment to the big screen because of her fashion business, which incorporates four successful lines which she co-runs with her sister.
"I was reading scripts, and ultimately I just said to the people who are representing me, 'I need to do things 100 percent. I don't feel like I can give you 100 percent of my time. There's a lot of compromise in the entertainment industry. I can't sit in this room and audition for this part,'" she said.
While Mary-Kate went on to appear in Weeds and 2008 movie The Wackness, she also stopped acting, as she felt a lack of control over the finished product. "I am not great at not being able to control the end product," she told Allure.

Despite the reported sightings and Hollywood gossip, Lance Armstrong says there is no romance between him and Ashley Olsen, one-half of the famed Olsen twins.
Paparazzi have spotted the pair out and about many times, but Armstrong says this is just a May-December friendship, not a romance. Armstrong is 15 years Olsen’s senior, and says that while they have “hung out,” it was as part of a group. The rumor mill has recently reported that Olsen and Armstrong were seen together at a bar, and Ashley was on his lap. Now, that’s pretty friendly. Another report said the pair was making out.

Mary-Kate’s May-December Romance
Posted by K.C. Morgan Categories: Comedy, Casting, Celeb News, Scripts, Upcoming Releases,
Mary-Kate Olsen, 21, will share a steamy on-screen kiss with 63-year-old Ben Kingsley in the upcoming film The Wackness. Kingsley, who once played Ghandi, describe the kiss as “very passionate.” The controversial kiss is already getting attention, though the movie isn’t slated for release until next year – and the scene in question was filmed only last week. Kingsley is a therapist in the film, trading pot for therapy session with a young drug dealer. Olsen is one of the dealer’s customers. The kiss is almost the only on-screen time the two share together, as each character goes their separate ways after the steamy moment. The movie marks Mary-Kate’s return to the big screen since 2004’s New York Minute, which featured both Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen.
