Jake Gyllenhaal: Prince of Persia Will Please Fans

believes fans of the Prince of Persia games will like the movie version.

Jake, who stars as lead character Prince Dastan in the adaptation, claims the movie has kept true to the original game while also making it relevant for a new audience by “elaborating” on the story.

“I’ve no doubt there will be a whole mix of ideas about the movie because everybody plays the game. The great thing about video games is you get to do it yourself, and this is another person’s version of it,” he told ComingSoon.net.

In , the actor plays Dastan, a prince on a quest to find an enchanted dagger. Gemma Arterton (Quantum of Solace) stars as the feisty princess who reluctantly helps him with the mission while Ben Kingsley takes on the villainous role of Nizam. The fantasy adventure is based off the popular video game that was released in 1989.

Persia unfolds in theaters on May 28, 2010.
