Angelina Jolie Project Gets Production Date
Posted by K.C. Morgan Categories: Action, Adaptation, Adventure, Remakes, Thrillers, Casting, Celebrity Gossip, Upcoming Releases
Angelina Jolie turned down several other offers, including the Wanted sequel, to participate in The Tourist. Now, the flick finally has a production date.
Jolie did attach some strings to her involvement with the film - she wouldn’t do it unless a proper director was involved with the project. Florian Henckel von Donnersmarck has been selected, and everyone seems to be happy. Though negotiations are not quite finalized, the film is expected to enjoy a 2011 release date. Donnersmarck won an Academy Award (Best Foreign-Language Film, 2006) for The Lives of Others.
In the flick, Angelina Jolie will portray an Interpol agent. Filming is expected to begin in February.

Having domestically grossed $54 with a modest $9 million budget, The Strangers was a tremendous hit for Rogue Pictures. Of course, we all unfortunately know what follows any amount of success in Hollywood these days: sequels.
Hoping that they have a new horror franchise on their hands, producers over at the Universal Pictures subsidary have their greedy hearts set on Liv Tyler‘s return, as well as the rest of the original villains (just admit how much you loved seeing Gemma Ward as the creepy psycho girl).

Tim Burton’s Alice Is Off to England

Disney’s favorite eccentric director Tim Burton is at it again, and this time he’s digging a bit older and traveling a bit further for his latest classic remake: Alice in Wonderland.
Burton is taking the cast and crew across the pond to Plymouth, where they will be holding auditions this week for the film’s extras. Casting director Ilenka Jelowicki explains why the locale is perfect for production:
“It’s a period movie, set in Victorian England, so we’re very specific about the look we need. In an ideal world, out of the 125 women we need, they would all have long, naturally coloured hair. We’d love men with beards or facial hair – lamb chops or big sideburns, that sort of thing.”
The only confirmed cast member is HBO‘s Australian actress Mia Wasikowska (In Treatment), who is set to play Alice. Take a wild guess who might be casted as one of the crazy Wonderland characters—I dare you!

The sixth of each month has continuously marked the release of Watchmen video journals, chronicling production on Zack Snyder‘s latest comic-to-screen film.
This month he gives us a peek at the infamous prison escape scene, revealing how stunt actors are lit on fire! I was a bit disappointed that we don’t clearly see Rorschach, though. In case you missed it on here, you can check out the photos of the Watchmen characters as well as the action figure prototypes. Enjoy.
