Christopher Mintz-Plasse: It’s a ‘Bummer’ Jim Carrey Won’t Promote ‘Kick-Ass 2’

Jim Carrey on the set of 'Kick-Ass 2'Christopher Mintz-Plasse says it's a "bummer" Jim Carrey doesn't want to promote Kick-Ass 2.

The veteran actor - who plays Colonel Stars and Stripes in the action sequel - withdrew his support of the film earlier this year, feeling it is too violent in light of the Sandy Hook school shootings, and his co-star is saddened by his decision but finds his opinion "understandable."

"It's a bummer because he's so good in the movie that I would love to have him promoting the movie, but with everything that's happened, it's totally understandable why [he doesn't want to]. We really upped the ante with the violence in this one and I think with all the tragedies that have happened this year, that's on people's minds, which is terrible. Violence is always controversial - nothing you can do."

Mintz-Plasse went on to defend Carrey's controversial decision, insisting it is difficult to envision how the film will look on screen compared to the script: "You read the script and you're like, 'Oh, it's violent,' but when you actually see it in front of you, it's a lot more violent than you think it's gonna be on the page. He saw the finished product and he just couldn't get behind it. I respect the guy's opinion."

Paris Hilton Sued for Lack of Promotion

Pledge This DVDFunny. I never thought the phrases “Paris Hilton” and “lack of publicity” could ever be used in the same sentence.

A lawsuit filed Tuesday in Miami’s District Court claims failed to live up to her contractual obligations. The heiress, who received an acting and an executive producer credit for National Lampoon’s Pledge This!, reportedly dropped the ball when it came to the film’s marketing.

According to Worldwide Entertainment Group Inc., the company is owed $75,000 because Hilton did not provide “reasonable promotion and publicity” for the 2006 sorority movie.

Now, given that Paris Hilton’s most recent film (The Hottie & the Nottie) failed despite her talk show appearances - what kind of numbers were the Pledge This! producers expecting to get?

Keira Knightley Takes a Stand Against Photoshop

Keira Knightley in The DuchessDespite past alterations of her breasts for publicity, Pirates of the Caribbean beauty Keira Knightley has finally put her foot down about the issue for her upcoming film.

Back in 2004, promotional posters for her film King Arthur raised her eyebrows as they appeared as if she had received an enlargement procedure she did not recall. “Those things certainly weren’t mine,” she said in a 2006 interview, despite the fact that upon her approval, she had told marketing, “OK, fine. I honestly don’t give a s—-.”

This time around, Knightley isn’t as disinterested about her chest in The Duchess. Instead, she has told studio executives that she refuses to have her physique altered in any way for promotional purposes. Kudos to Keira for sticking up for those who aren’t as gifted as most celebrities nowadays!

What’s sad is the fact that she has to fight. Gotta love a society that has to enlarge a woman’s bosom in order to bump up ticket sales, eh?

Mischa Barton, Cannes Film FestivalSomeone please tell me - who is advising this girl???

Although has had a chance to revive her career post-O.C. death, post-DUI bust…the actress has made series of blunders lately.

First she turned down a juicy part in the Joss Schwartz’s Gossip Girl (that part eventually eventually went to Michelle Trachtenberg), then her rep accused photographers of photoshopping cellulite onto her rear. Now she’s bailed on the people who were nice enough to employ her!
