VIDEO: See Eric Stoltz as Original Back to the Future Lead


Anyone who loved Some Kind of Wonderful as much as I did might be interested in this little fun fact: A few years before Lea Thompson played �s love interest in that teen film, she came very close to playing his mother � in Back to the Future.

In fact, Stoltz did about five weeks of shooting on the classic sci-fi comedy before he was replaced. In the clip above for a special Blu-ray release of , director Robert Zemeckis and executive producer Steven Spielberg explain why the role of Marty McFly was ultimately recast. (That part, as we all know, eventually went to Michael J. Fox.)

Lindsay Lohan Loses Manson Project

Lindsay LohanLast month, we told you Lindsay Lohan was scheduled to appear in Manson Girls, a movie about Charles Manson’s followers.  Now we’re learning Lohan has already been replaced in that film and another one as well.

The story behind Lindsay’s exit from Manson varies depending on the source.  One site claims a refill was necessary because the producers were unable to find actresses willing to star with her.  The star’s rep, though, blames ‘scheduling conflicts’ for the casting change.

Meanwhile, the reason for Lohan’s departure from another project is not quite clear.  She was at one point slated to appear with in a romantic comedy.  Now the project is moving on with another actress.  According to someone connected to Ye Old Times, “We have just decided to go our separate ways. We currently have an offer out to another actor.”

Well, I guess Lindsay should be happy she has her work on Ugly Betty to fall back on…
