First Look: Sandler, Spade, and Rock are Grown Ups

Adam Sandler’s latest film, , marks yet another reunion (nearly paralleling the story itself) with SNL veterans David Spade, Chris Rock, Maya Rudolph, and Rob Schneider. Oh, and for some reason, Salma Hayek signed up for this gig, too.

In the movie, Sandler meets up with his high school friends (Spade, Rock, Schneider, and Kevin James) during a July 4th weekend, where they discover some interesting things about their families (Schneider is married to an extreme cougar, James’s four year-old kid is still breast-fed). The comedy opens in theaters on July 25, 2010.

Kate Winslet Talks About Reuniting with DiCaprio

Revolutionary Road

Eleven years after starring in the #1 movie of all time (I’m still crossing my fingers for The Dark Knight), Titanic‘s Kate Winslet and Leonardo DiCaprio are reuniting for a new movie together.

In , the former star-crossed lovers play a seemingly happy couple struggling to conform in the 1950’s.

And while it’s not surprising to hear that the chemistry between Winslet and DiCaprio remains strong, it’s interesting to hear that the intimacy was quite awkward the second time around. For those who don’t know, the Richard Yates adaptation was directed by , Kate Winslet’s husband.

Brad Pitt, Edward Norton Reunion A Bust

Brad Pitt and Edward NortonIt was probably one of the most buzzed about reunions since and were brought back together again.  Now it looks like we might have to wait another 8 years to see it happen.

Back in September, it was announced that and would join forces for the political drama, .  The two, last seen together in 1999’s , were next set to spar in the political arena.  Pitt was cast as former campaign manager-turned-reporter while Edward was scheduled to play a congressman whose research assistant is murdered.  I use the word ‘was’ because Play’s two core stars have since dropped out.

Unhappy with the final script, Pitt eventually backed out of the film.  Although had agreed to step in, his late arrival pushed the starting date from November to January.  This change unfortunately posed a scheduling conflict for Norton, who was then forced to exit as well.  It is now hoped that will slide in his place.  (I for some reason doubt the Crowe/Affleck chemistry could even come close to the original pairing’s.)

Assuming no other last minute changes are made, the movie - an adaptation of a British mini-series - will also feature , , and .

TitanicFor those who had always hoped to see Jack and Rose finally happy, you will now get your chance.  Well—okay, maybe not happy...but at least they’ll be married.  Ten years after their heart-breaking voyage on the doomed Titanic and Leo DiCaprio are slated to begin filming together again this summer.

The movie, titled Revolutionary Road, is about a seemingly happy couple’s struggle to conform in the 1950’s.  The film is an adaptation of the book by Richard Yates.

Kate’s husband, director Sam Mendes (American Beauty), will be taking the helm.  This will be the first time Winslet (or DiCaprio) has paired with him.
