Angelina Jolie perfected her voice for Maleficent while bathing her kids.
The 38-year-old star tried out a number of different way of talking with her brood - Maddox, 12, Pax, 10, Zahara, nine, Shiloh, seven, and twins Knox and Vivienne, five - to perfect the way she should talk as the evil queen in the new Disney movie:
"I would give them baths and I would try different voices on them, on different nights. I would tell them stories in different voices and sometimes they would kind of go, 'That's a weird voice mom, why are you doing that?' When I did the one they all started laughing and made me do it over and over again and that's how I discovered her voice because I thought, it had to be a voice that is just fun to listen to and get really crazy."
Although Angelina and her fiance Brad Pitt don't want their children to go into acting, they allowed Vivienne to play a young Princess Aurora in the movie, but getting her to do what they wanted on set proved harder than they initially realized.

Drew Barrymore: I’m Not a “Good” Actress
Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Celeb News, Filmmaking,
Drew Barrymore doesn't think she's a very good actress.
The 39-year-old star - who has starred in countless films since the age of six - doesn't rate her dramatic ability because she prefers to become the character, rather than imitate them. "I don't think I'm a good actress. I feel like it's fake and yucky and it doesn't ring true. But if you research and you study and make it personal, you just become that person, and it's your truth and everything else around you falls away. Then you're telling the truth, it's not lying, it's not fake," she explained.
The blonde beauty credits her godfather Steven Spielberg for giving her the best advice, which has stuck with her for 33 years: "Steven told me, 'Don't act your characters. Be your characters.' At [the age of] six, I guess I was comfortable and more humorous than I would have remembered now. But once I got older and kept continuing acting, I don't know if I would have succeeded without that advice, because that's the thing that saved me. I'm not an actor, I'm a pretender."

Leonardo DiCaprio needed "a lot of chiropractic work" after filming The Wolf of Wall Street.
The 39-year-old actress portrays notorious stockbroker Jordan Belfort in the movie, and he was advised by the banker on how to act in a scene where he had to crawl to a car while on drugs - and he found mimicking his moves incredibly painful.
"I didn't know anything about Quaaludes, and he had taken a tremendous amount of them. I videotaped him on the floor, rolling around, and he really articulated to me that you have every intention of going to a certain destination, but your body doesn't go along with you. We shot it for, like, a week, and it was a lot of chiropractic work for me because it was incredibly painful," he told The New York Post.
Meanwhile, Leonardo's co-star Jonah Hill admits he wouldn't use the expletive-filled language of the movie in his everyday life: "I'm happy to be in Scorsese's movie. I try not to use those phrases at home. But the script's so brutally honest I didn't mind saying them.

Michael Fassbender Mastered the Whip for ‘12 Years’ Role
Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Fox Searchlight, Biopics, Drama, Period, Filmmaking, New Releases,
Michael Fassbender had to master cracking a whip for 12 Years A Slave.
The 36-year-old actor plays nefarious slave owner Edwin Epps in the historical drama and admits he had to keep practicing with the weapon to perfect his skills so the punishment of his slaves was realistic on screen. Fassbender found it uncomfortable to play a man so readily willing to inflict pain on other humans in order to control them, but he believes his dedication to mastering the tool is apparent to everyone who sees the acclaimed movie.
"I remember I had to practice on the whip; I had to learn to crack it properly. I remember thinking about the knot it created in my shoulder, the knot it would create from doing such a physical task as whipping the skin off another human's back. That physical memory would stay in the body, my body, Epps' body. The body would retain the memory of what you have done to your fellow man or fellow woman. What would the psychological effect of this be? The retention of pain in your body memory? It's got to be stored somewhere. That's what I tried to with Epps. There's a deep conflict in the man."

De Niro Punched Stallone on Set of ‘Grudge Match’
Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Warner Bros, Comedy, Sports, Celebrity Gossip, Home Entertainment, New Releases,
Robert De Niro punched Sylvester Stallone "a couple of times" while filming Grudge Match.
The Rocky Balboa star admits he wanted to take the boxing scene in the comedy movie further than acting, so he allowed De Niro, who has two Oscar Awards under his belt, to smash him across the face and knock him to the floor to make it feel like a real fight.
"I told him [De Niro], 'In here, your Oscars are not going to help you pal, you're in Rockyland.' He was very feisty, he took a good shot. It was very, very hard, the training. He hit me a couple of times because, you know, you want to get that realism. But when I saw him take some falls and I took some falls I said, 'This is getting good, this is not a joke fight,'" Stallone said.
However, the 67-year-old actor admits jumping into the ring with De Niro, 70, was harder than he thought it would be because they couldn't pull off the same stunts they could during their younger years. Although, he believes the film - which follows a pair of ageing boxing rivals who are coaxed out of retirement to fight one last time - suited him down to the ground because it was very "age appropriate." Stallone explained, "We weren't jumping around like we were 22, even though I wanted to; I wasn't able to."
