Keira Knightley Aims For Fair Lady Role

Keira Knightley has her eyes set for the Fair Lady roleA fan of period pieces, Keira Knightley has been tipped to star in a new version of My Fair Lady.

The Pirates of the Caribbean actress is reportedly in negotiations to play Eliza Doolittle in Emma Thompson’s adaptation of the classic rags-to-riches tale.

Anne Hathaway and Scarlett Johansson are also being considered for the role, which was originally played by Audrey Hepburn. An insider said, “Keira and Scarlett are the only two real contenders, and Keira’s the favorite. She’s the most natural Eliza people have seen. She has worked on her singing voice for a year and will get better and better.”

The film’s director Danny Boyle, who won an Academy Award for Slumdog Millionaire earlier this year, is also believed to want Keira to get the part.

The 24-year-old actress is said to be “scared” about taking on such an iconic role, but excited about the challenge it would present. Filming is expected to start late next year.

Maggie Gyllenhaal Puts Kids On Hold

Maggie Gyllenhaal puts more kids on hold due to her current roleNew mother Maggie Gyllenhaal‘s new movie has put her off having more children.

The Nanny McPhee and the Big Bang actress, who plays a struggling mother in the 2010 comedy, found working with five young co-stars and animals exhausting.

“I’m playing a mom at her wits end—tripping over things, with things falling on my head. That kind of physical comedy is exhausting. Especially working with five kids and sometimes animals.”

The 31-year-old beauty, who has two-year-old daughter Ramona with her husband Peter Sarsgaard, loves being a mother, but admits that it is very different from how she expected.

She told British Marie Claire: “Before my daughter was born, I was all, ‘I’m only going to feed her organic food, I’m only going to give her cloth diapers…’ And then, once you have a real child who is starving on a plane, you give them a bag of potato chips because that’s all there is, and they’re OK and it’s fine.”

Jason BatemanJason Bateman thinks that being a drug addict would land him more roles.

The Extract star admits he worries that his clean-cut image is spoiling his chances of landing edgier film roles and things he needs to find a way to sully his reputation (Beavis and Butthead will tell you otherwise).

“I’m not sure there’s a lot of money in that kind of image in Hollywood. What I need to do is generate a drug problem and cheat on my wife a little bit and get caught with some little starlet on the French Riviera.”

Despite his reputation, Jason insists his life hasn’t always been trouble free and he is glad he could make mistakes out of the public eye. He added to Parade:

“The truth is I wasn’t a guy who stayed out of trouble. I had worked so much when I was a kid that I didn’t get to go to college. My 20s were my fraternity life. I made a bunch of bad decisions, but I didn’t end up getting arrested. Fortunately, celebrity journalism was not around and I got away with it.”

Kristen Stewart Set to Play Prostitute in New Film

Kristen Stewart on set of Welcome to the RileysKristen Stewart will be baring it all in her upcoming independent drama, Welcome to the Rileys.

A far cry from the innocent Bella Swan, the chaste Twilight character who made her famous, Stewart will be playing opposite James Gandolfini as a young lap dancer and prostitute.

“It’s an independent movie that nobody would normally see and now it’s like, ‘Oh, let’s go see Bella in this stripper movie; it’ll be crazy!’” said the 19-year-old actress.

Of Gandolfini, Stewart lauds the experience she gained from working on the film:

“Working with James Gandolfini and Melissa Leo, who is just incredible, was the most fruitful life-changing experience on a movie that I’ve ever had. It was just the hardest subject matter I’ve ever had to deal with — I play a very broken young girl who is a runaway. She’s a street kid. She’s working in a strip club and James Gandolfini’s character is just as dead inside as she is — and they wake each other up.”

No official release dates have been announced for the film.
