Christopher Nolan Keeping Close Tabs on Dark Knight Script

The Dark Knight RisesGary Oldman as Commissioner Gordon director Christopher Nolan won't give out scripts for the film's final scenes. The filmmaker is determined to keep the ending of his third Batman movie - which stars Christian Bale as the caped crusader - under wraps so he is instead advising his cast on the story verbally in order to minimize the chance of leaks.

"Christopher doesn't want anyone to ruin it and I completely understand that. The newer people on the film go to his office to read the script. They sent mine out, but it had to be hand delivered directly to me and nobody else. And the final few pages were missing. I went along and talked to Christopher and in person about the ending. Then I locked it away in my head," said Gary Oldman, who plays Police Commissioner James Gordon.

Gary is happy with his role in the film and is pleased his career has moved on from the "frenetic" characters of his younger days, such as Drexl from True Romance and Stansfield in Leon. He added, "I was younger then, that's all. In The Dark Knight Rises I'm the 50 year old police commissioner while wonderful, young Heath Ledger is bouncing off the walls as The Joker. Now, had that part come along 15 years ago, people might have said, 'That's a Gary Oldman role.'"

Remake News: Bradley Cooper as The Crow?

Bradley Cooper as The CrowIt might be hard to take the headline seriously (we had to find three sources before we would even believe the story), but it could actually happen: Bradley Cooper may become the title star in a remake of The Crow. He’s reportedly in talks to take the role.

The original 1994 flick, based on the comic book, shot to cult fame as soon as it was released, but it’s always been tainted with a somber reality: actor Brandon Lee was killed during the filming of one of the movie’s more iconic scenes. Lee, son of Bruce Lee, was only 28 at the time.

Lee’s shocking death was the result of a props mistake on set; a live round was accidentally mixed into the blanks which were meant to be fired. The Crow, the story of a slain-before-his-time rocker who returns to the land of the living to avenge his dead love, was acclaimed by many critics.

Russell Brand Ready to Rock New Film

Russell BrandForgetting Russell Brand just isn’t possible anymore. When the British-born comedian hosted MTV’s VMAs in 2008, he was relatively unknown. Now, he’s cropping up in star-studded comedies and pulling in huge bucks at the box office. He’s playing himself in Hop, the biggest movie hit of the year, and next week he’ll lead Arthur to the theaters.

Now, we’re hearing Brand is returning to his movie roots: he’ll be playing a rock star in an upcoming film role. He played eccentric star Aldous Snow in both Forgetting Sarah Marshall and Get Him to the Greek, to much success. Rumor says that Brand is negotiating a role in Rock of Ages, a big screen adaptation of the Broadway hit of the same name. The plot centers on a 1980s rock bar in LA owned by a washed-up rocker (Alec Baldwin). Happening star Stacee Jax (Tom Cruise) will headline a concert sponsored by the bar. Reportedly, Brand will play Lonny, the bar’s operator.

Mary J. Blige and Julianne Hough are already attached to the film, a gossip says that Amy Adams is in talks for another role.

Lindsay Lohan Offered Movie Role as Sharon Tate

Lindsay Lohan Sharon Tate

Actually, we love this. Lindsay Lohan clearly isn’t doing much, career-wise, right now. The actress was replaced on the Linda Lovelace movie because of ongoing rehab and court issues, but it seems a very meaty role is now in the offing: Sharon Tate, famous Manson victim.

Eyes of a Dreamer tells the story of Charles Manson, to which Sharon Tate is inextricably linked. Tate, an actress herself, was killed while pregnant in August of 1969 by the Manson clan. Her murder is one of the most well-documented and notorious in US history.
