Is Spielberg Interested in a Goonies Sequel?

Twenty-five years after The Goonies hit the big screen, one of the film's actors claims there could possibly -- possibly -- be a sequel.

Corey Feldman, who starred alongside Sean Astin, Martha Plimpton and Kerri Green as Clark 'Mouth' Devereaux, claims many parties are interested reuniting for a follow-up -- including director Richard Donner and executive producer Steven Spielberg.

“We all like to see it happen, but it’s one of those stumbling blocks where no matter how much love there is ...," Feldman told The Hollywood Reporter. “I would do it if [the studio] was serious, but unfortunately they can’t seem to get it together," he explained. (Well, we all know that you would do the film, Corey -- but is Josh Brolin really hurting to do a sequel at this point?)

Mission Impossible Sequel Scores a Name

Tom Cruise in Mission Impossible

wasn’t the only sequel to be named this week.

At a press conference in Dubai, Tom Cruise announced the official title for the next film – while simultaneously confusing us in the process.

"One of the things I always wanted for the franchise was for it not to have a number afterwards," Cruise stated.

"I’ve never done sequels to films and I never thought of these films as sequels. Paramount has done a great job in coming up with a title, so it’s not going to be MI2, 3, 4: It’s going to be Mission: Impossible Ghost Protocol."

Tom Cruise to Pilot Top Gun Sequel

It appears Tom Cruise and director Tony Scott will be reteaming for another flyby in theaters.

Approximately 25 years after making Top Gun together, the two are expected to reunite for the film’s sequel – a movie that will feature Pete 'Maverick' Mitchell, Cruise’s character from the 1986 film.

Although it was unclear what role – if any – Tom would play in the Paramount production, screenwriter Christopher McQuarrie (The Usual Suspects, Valkyrie) told Vulture the film could not exist without the Navy pilot.

Rosario Dawson Wants Sin City Sequel Soon

Rosario Dawson in Sin CitySin City actress Rosario Dawson said that she needs the sequel to happen soon if she’s going to fit into the barely-there outfits.

The 31-year-old actress - who played prostitute dominatrix Gail in the first movie adaptation of the graphic novel - explained while she is keen to work on a sequel, director Robert Rodriguez needs to start filming soon or she will feel too old for the skimpy costumes associated with the character.

“The last time I saw Robert Rodriguez was a month ago and he really wants to make Sin City 2 happen. I said, ‘I understand you’ve been taking your time, but if you want me to wear the outfit that fits into one hand, dude. I’m not getting any younger.’”

The star also admitted she is grateful for her unusual looks - which are a combination of her Puerto Rican, Afro-Cuban, Native American and Irish descent - as some of her more conventional-looking friends struggle to find acting work: “I have friends of mine who are actresses, who all have blonde hair and blue eyes, tell me they think I am going to work more than them. One of my friends in particular - and she’s a pretty big actress - said, ‘There are a million girls who show up who look just like me every single day in Los Angeles fighting for the exact same job.’”
