Taylor Kitsch For Catching Fire Role?

Taylor Kitsch, Garrett Hedlund and Armie Hammer are reportedly battling it out for the role of Finnick Odair in Catching Fire.
Finnick is the victor of the 65th Hunger Games in the Suzanne Collins book trilogy on which the movies are based and his role is a vital one in the second novel. According to E! News, film bosses are undecided about whether to go with one of these three actors or launch an unknown with the pivotal role. A decision is expected to be made this week.
However, Lionsgate refused to comment, with a representative saying, "As with the first film, we won't be confirming, denying or commenting on any casting rumors for this title. We will announce news wide when there is official casting news to announce."
Filming is scheduled to begin later this year with Francis Lawrence taking over the directing reigns from Gary Ross, who chose not to return to the franchise.
Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson and Liam Hemsworth all starred in The Hunger Games, which was released earlier this year and are on board to reprise their roles of Katniss Everdeen, Peeta Mellark and Gale Hawthorne respectively.

Taylor Kitsch Made Ugly for John Carter

Taylor Kitsch was made to look "awful" in John Carter.
The 31-year-old actor plays the titular military captain who is sent to Mars in the film and he has revealed his handsome appearance would be marked up on set most days.
"I don't pick my roles in any way, shape or form in the sense of that kind of stuff. If anything, we uglify a lot of that. Even in John Carter we tried, if you ask Bill Corso who did make-up. Every morning he made me look so awful. It's just honest to the character. There's little things you can do to show how messed up he is - if there's more cuts and bruises, to the bags under his eyes, to making him more pale in the flashback scene. Half the crew thought I was really sick because we did the make-up that way," he said when asked how it feels to be a sex symbol.
Despite mind-blowing special effects and a huge promotional campaign, John Carter - which is based on Edgar Rice Burroughs' Barsoom series of novels - has been one of the biggest box office flops of all time with studio Walt Disney expecting to lose $200 million of the movie.
Taylor Kitsch’s Risky Film Choices

Taylor Kitsch wants to be "scared" by his career choices.
The John Carter actor says it's important for him to take risks with his jobs and take on different characters as he doesn't want to be typecast: "I want to keep working with the best, keep going and be a better actor each time I go and dive into something. I want to be scared. I want to keep taking insane risks. I want to be scared because you're going to grow through that whether you want to or not. I don't want to play the same guy. I want to keep throwing curveballs to you guys and keep telling stories."
As well as concentrating on his career, the former personal trainer says he wants to live a "normal" life in Austin, Texas, after buying a house there.
"When I'm not acting, I try to be normal, play golf, play hockey. It's funny because you're in this little bubble when you're working - you don't read books, you don't really keep up with the news, you're just living that life. When you get out, you just kind of reacquaint yourselves with family and friends. You try and forget and just try and remember what reality feels like."
Toy Story 4 In The Works?

Andrew Stanton admits Toy Story 4 is a "possibility."
The John Carter director has previously written all of the Toy Story animated movies - about the secret lives of a group of play things owned by a young boy - and although he admits he has to "come up" with something good, he is not scared by the prospect.
"There's always the possibility for a new movie, it just comes down to only if there's a story good enough. We've set the bar so high with the previous three movies that as much as people want a fourth nobody wants an inferior movie so we've got to come up with something good," Andrew told BANG Showbiz when speaking at the UK premiere of John Carter.
With his new movie, Andrew admits he was delighted to get Taylor Kitsch on board because people find him hard to "stop watching."
"Taylor just has that X Factor. Do you really need to ask me? Can you not see the Taylor effect? You can't describe it, there's something about him that you just can't stop watching and you mix that with his charisma and that he's a really great actor."

UPDATE: Two more names have since been added to the bottom of the list.
Back in October, we reported that a spinoff of the X-Men series was in the works. The prequel, X-Men Origins: Wolverine, would explore the beginnings of Hugh Jackman’s storyline 17 years before the first movie took place.
Now four months later, we are getting a picture of how the rest of the cast is filling out. It was originally rumored that Liev Schreiber would be playing a younger version of William Stryker (the role Brian Cox filled in X2). That role actually belongs to Danny Huston (30 Days of Night). But Schreiber will still have a presence in the film; he is now set to star as Victor Creed (a.k.a Sabretooth).
Here’s a list of the actors currently joining slated to join Jackman:
- Lynn Collins (The Number 23): Kayla Silverfox
- Danny Huston (The Kingdom): William Stryker
- Taylor Kitsch (Friday Night Lights) Gambit
- Ryan Reynolds (Definitely, Maybe): Deadpool
- Liev Schrieber (The Painted Veil) : Victor Creed/Sabretooth
- will.i.am (Black Eyed Peas singer): Wraith
- Dominic Monaghan (Lost): Barnell
- Daniel Henney (My Name Is Kim Sam-soon): Agent Zero
The film is still scheduled for a May 1, 2009 release.
