Quote of the Day: Robert Pattinson Scared of Abs

“It was incredibly annoying when I saw Taylor [Lautner]‘s transformation. I realized just having a pre-pubescent girl’s body wasn’t going to work for me any more. In fact I saw him and thought ‘Jesus, I’m going to get fired.’”

After months of endless promotion, New Moon finally opened this weekend to monster-sized numbers. But how exactly did the film compare to the other theatrical giants?
- Despite earning over $142 million since midnight Thursday, the adaptation’s debut still falls behind The Dark Knight ($158.4) and Spider-Man 3 ($151.1 million).
- The sequel did, though, beat Knight for the best first day open ($72.7 compared to $67.2 million).
- It had the largest midnight opening ($26.3 million) to date. (Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince grossed $22.2 million.)

Taylor Lautner Actually Does Not Mind Being Shirtless
Posted by Robin Paulson Categories: Action, Adaptation, Drama, Romance, Science Fiction, Sequels, Thrillers, Celeb News, Celebrity Gossip, Rumors, Upcoming Releases
New Moon hunk Taylor Lautner recently corrected a quote that he made regarding his shirtlessness, saying that he has no problems with taking clothes off for future roles. Good to know that the world won’t implode now.
“I love this character and I loved putting on the weight, and not wearing much clothing was required by the role. If a year from now, I love a character and a role, I will do it again.”
Here’s to hoping that screenwriters can hook up us fan girls with that…
Lautner also admits that he can’t help but laugh when he watches the scene where Jacob rips his shirt off to daub Bella’s bleeding head: “I start laughing so hard every time I see that scene, ‘Oh, you’re bleeding. OK, Let me fix that.’ So embarrassing.”

Quote of the Day: Taylor Lautner on Shirtlessness
Posted by Robin Paulson Categories: Action, Adaptation, Adventure, Drama, Romance, Sequels, Thrillers, Celeb News, Celebrity Gossip, Filmmaking, Upcoming Releases

“I worked hard to get in shape for this role. My motivation was the movie and the fans, but I don’t want to become known as just a body. If I had to choose, I would never take my shirt off again in a movie, but I guess that’s not very realistic. I certainly won’t be asking to do it, though.”
- New Moon hunk Taylor Lautner on going topless. I hope that he seriously reconsiders that bit about not wanting to take his shirt off again for a film!

Jacob Black the Star of New Moon Trailer
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Action, Adaptation, Adventure, Drama, Horror, Romance, Science Fiction, Sequels, Trailers, Upcoming Releases
Based on the latest box office results, you were probably one of the many who didn’t watch Bandslam this weekend. That means you most likely missed out on the latest New Moon trailer.
Although we’ve already heard Bella tell Jacob Black that he’s “sorta beautiful,” we haven’t seen his bedroom skills until now. Did you know he could just leap in and out of your window? Pretty amazing considering he’s 30 pounds bigger!
“New Moon is a lot more complicated than Twilight was,” Taylor Lautner narrates. “As time goes on, the heat starts building. New Moon is gonna be stepped up a whole other notch. There’s more action in this one, especially with the werewolves involved. I think the fans are really going to be happy.”
The Twilight saga continues on November 20.

Taylor Lautner Goes Shirtless for New Moon Teaser Trailer
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Adaptation, Adventure, Drama, Romance, Science Fiction, Trailers, Upcoming Releases
Isn’t it just like a guy to show off his abs when a girl’s feeling vulnerable?
In this new teaser trailer for New Moon, Jacob Black (actor Taylor Lautner) finally gets the compliment he worked out so hard for: “You’re sorta beautiful.” (Judging by his reaction, I’m sure he would have preferred “You’re really hot”—but maybe Bella will say that post-haircut.)
The full trailer will hit theaters this Friday before the premiere of Bandslam. The movie will then debut three months later on November 20.

Love Triangle Highlighted in New Moon Poster
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Adaptation, Adventure, Drama, Romance, Sequels, Upcoming Releases

Ooh Jacob - what new beefy biceps you have…
Two pieces of good news for Twilight fans today. In addition to this glimpse at what New Moon will have to offer (a love triangle!!), a fourth installment of the film has already been confirmed. (Apparently the studio didn’t need to know how the third - or the second - one would do.)
No production start date has yet been announced for Breaking Dawn. In the meantime, Moon will arrive in theaters on November 20 while Eclipse is scheduled for a June 30, 2010 debut.

Check Out New Moon’s Hunky Wolf Pack
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Adaptation, Adventure, Drama, Romance, Sequels, Casting

New Moon‘s cast is steadily filling out…and in a nice way.
USA Today has just revealed the four men - Chaske Spencer, Alex Meraz, Kiowa Gordon and Bronson Pelletier - who will comprise the wolf pack Jacob Black belongs to. (Now we know why Taylor Lautner’s role was considered so critical.)
By the way - if you’re thinking that this shirtless picture is nothing more than a publicity stunt, you’d be wrong. The actors, all of Native American descent, will spend their on-screen time this way.
“They went through wolf camp together, and they are in constant training. It paid off as a bonding thing for them and helped them to get to know one another. They drove each other to get more buff,” director Chris Weitz stated.
The Twilight Saga: New Moon unfolds in theaters on November 20.
